"Originally we had planned to go somewhere else, but they had ended up being shut down and this was across the street, and I am so happy that was the case. There was a language barrier, but a very nice woman eating there decided to help out. So there isn't an actual menu and its wine or water. But! Oh wow the food was so so delicious. We had some amazing calamari that was seared with very tasty vegetables and some sort of Croatian sausage. We had desert as well which incredibly fresh! I loved this place, very cute and perfect for a romantic dinner. Very affordable as well for what you get! I highly recommend eating here!"

We had read 'foxbox17's' review and it convinced us to try Istra out, and boy are we glad we did! She was absolutely correct about there being a small language barrier (but everyone was friendly and we worked right through it), and it was great to have the warning about not having a menu and there just being water and wine. Which was fine with us because it made a perfect dinner! We had a seafood platter with fish, prawns, calamari, and vegetables; and it was delicious. We truly enjoyed the wine and the food so much, the atmosphere was lovely, and to top it all off, it was so reasonably priced. I would recommend Istra to anyone and would definitely go back if I find myself in Berchtesgaden a...
