Izakaya Naru - Reserva de mesa

Great experience as we were able to try dishes not readily available in izakayas in LA or NY. Two authentically Okinawan dishes they recommended were the taco rice in stone pot and the bitter melon stir fried rice. The taco rice was interesting but it's not something I'll order again. The gyoza wasn't so flavorful and the miso butter fish was a bit too salty for my liking but the HAMACHI was amazing. Probably one of the best I had. Both sashimi and the carpaccio were excellent. I wasn't too sure what to make of the marinated Avocado, but this is definitely a place to check out at least once.

One of my favorite memories in Honolulu! Be sure to make a reservation in advance. We ordered a variety of dishes from both the special and standard menus. I highly recommend trying the spicy bamboo shoots and the simmered beef from the special menu. The portion sizes for several dishes were larger than I anticipated, but I'd still suggest ordering about three dishes per person so you can sample more options. Other highlights for me included the sukiyaki pizza and soba with tofu—the broth was absolutely delicious!

Reservations are required! I had a fantastic experience at this izakaya. The atmosphere is small and lively, which adds to the excitement. The draft beer (Orion) is served in chilled cups, and the Okinawan lime ball was quite refreshing. We tried the beef tongue, juniper eggs, chicken skin, Aburi (seared mackerel), and a few other dishes that weren't pictured. Everything was delicious and perfect for sharing with friends.

This is my favorite restaurant in Hawaii! I'm always happy to come here and spend time. If they have it, try the Hamachi Carpaccio. That's the best! The meaged mackerel is also very good. Also, I highly recommend the desserts, the Okinawan Donuts and the Baguette ice cream! Make sure to make a reservation. You just accept customers with reservations. Reserva una mesa ahora

This was our first experience with Okinawan cuisine, and it was a memorable one. We tried the Tako Wasabi, spicy cucumber, taco rice, sea-salted pig, and grilled chicken skin. The flavors were quite distinct from what we're used to, but we found them all to be very delicious.

The food was absolutely on point. Definitely book a reservation because it seems like they weren't taking walk-ins. I didn't try the alcohol though but it looked like they had a lot of interesting choices.
