How have I not written a review for the amazing J.Trani yet???? Near us for Italian, we 've always had a soft spot for Giorgio (the man himself! and Giorgio 's in Rolling Hills (which is very good in its own right, although we do miss the old school ambience of the old location up the street from The Red Onion but looking for a change-up perhaps 6 or 7 years ago now, I, possibly regrettably (poor Giorgio 's! , found J.Trani in nearby San Pedro. I consider San Pedro, a relative food dessert. It certainly has some foodie darlings, but nothing that plays in the level of restaurants like Providence, or Bestia, or Ding Tai Fun. It mostly has some good casual haunts. But J 's has success in its attempt to be a foodie destination. I went there last week. It was a weekday night, and the day after I had work. So I did not have the time or energy or want to drive to an LA spot. So I happily welcomed J 's as an option. And I found it ton be a true delight. My friend and I did not have reservations. There were four of us, and we enjoyed the following dishes: the Trani Salad, complimentary bread, Calamari, Alfredo, Penne with Sunday Sauce, Uni Pasta, Crème Brûlée, and the GOAT Cocktail. Every bite was incredibly delicious. For my niece's eighth birthday, the chef even prepared a special off-menu Alfredo from scratch, which was simply heavenly! The homemade bread paired with the salad was a standout; the salad was not only flavorful but also generous in size—we easily shared it among three adults. All of the main courses were outstanding, but the penne with Sunday sauce (complete with short rib) was, hands down, the best dish. I can’t even put into words how amazing it was. The cocktails...

We arrived in San Pedro the night prior to a cruise. I made a dinner reservation at J Trani's based on the Yelp reviews. We were not disappointed. The restaurant does not have its own parking lot but customers are allowed to use the bank parking next to it as well as street parking. We arrived a few minutes before our 6 PM reservation and were immediately seated in a comfortable banquet. Our server Monica was friendly and attentive. To start, I ordered the calamari, which was hands down the best I've ever tasted. It was beautifully presented, and the accompanying sauce was utterly delicious—definitely a 10/10! For my main course, I opted for the halibut, a special the waiter suggested. I’m so glad I took his advice; the halibut was tender and flavorful, with every bite more satisfying than the last. The lemon caper sauce paired perfectly with the fish, while the spinach and potatoes complemented it beautifully. I enjoyed a glass of Josh red wine with my meal, which was a great choice. We always have the most incredible meals and experiences here. Every. Single. Time. The restaurant's staff members are all so kind and attentive. The ambiance is classic--dimly lit with an old school, yet classy feel. Tonight we had the specials--halibut with a lemon caper sauce and the lobster linguine. Both dishes were just perfect. The fish, the lobster, the pasta--all cooked beautifully. I couldn't get over how well these dishes had been executed. They also put a lot of effort and TLC into their cocktails as well. Their old fashions are a great choice. We love coming here, it's truly a gem! Grateful to have a place like this in the San Pedro community.

Tomas was our on-site manager, and he was an outstanding coordinator for the event. He checked in with me constantly to ensure everything was going smoothly and provided clear explanations of our setup and meal options. But the highlight was the food—it was exceptional. The calamari and shrimp appetizers were the best anyone had ever tasted, and the dinner featuring tri-tip, salmon, and pasta was simply incredible. How can we have lived in PV for 24 years and never have come here !!! Food was so amazing! We came for my sons birthday. We started with the grilled calamari and octopus ! Amazing I had the Sunday sauce with Rigatoni so delish. My husband had the swordfish wow !!! My kids had the seafood linguini, carbonara , chicken ravioli. My husband and I had a wonderful dinner here. We ordered the penne w/short ribs, lasagna and the incredible bread pudding. Amazing food and great service!

The food is excellent, everything is good the caramel pear pizza delicious, the service amazing. Luis was really nice.
