I used to be afraid of this place!. It's a good bar, with pub food. Some of the people at the bar looked scary, and with all the cameras they have watching the entire property, seems like they've seen some rough problems in the past. You won't get much conversation from bartender/servers unless you're a regular, but if that's OK, (and you like Pittsburgh football stuff), they have good cold beer good pub food at a reasonable price. The carpet isn't new, there are stains on the walls, and characters at the bar, but it's not bad for trivia nights or to drown your sorrows, just don't ask for a complicated mixed drink.

You guys!! This was a random stop because it was the closest town to where I was staying with a Starbucks and we wanted lunch. Amazing food, hubby had the spicy chicken sandwich, I had buffalo chicken salad and we ordered jalapeño poppers ..so good! We grabbed something from their dessert display because it was so unbelievably tempting ...thus my need to write a review. The caramel cake is literally the best dessert I've ever eaten. Our waiter was super friendly, had great suggestions for lunch and super knowledgeable about their menu.

We ordered the original cheese balls, which are my favorite item on the menu. I also got a mini melt with roast beef and cheese, served with fries. Unfortunately, the meat was shredded pot roast instead of actual roast beef. While it had good flavor, it ended up being dry and tough. The French fries were a huge disappointment as well; they were hardly cooked, greasy, and not crispy at all—not even a little bit. I've never experienced bad food here before, but tonight was definitely a letdown.

I absolutely love the fish dinner here! The hand-breaded haddock is always delicious. They also serve a great yellow pizza, Altoona style. I enjoy the variety of people I see whenever I visit.
