The food was fresh. We got a:•Small oxtail plate w/rice peas/Mac/cabbage: Decent serving size for the price. The meat was slightly sweet, the oxtail gravy was a perfect match for the perfectly cooked rice and peas. The make is kind of a mash up between Caribbean mac pie and American baked Mac. The flavor was ok for me, nothing to write home about. The cabbage had a nice texture. 5 food never opens on time but when open authentic jamaican-style cuisine that will transform your taste buds as if you were oversee you. I would definitely recommend it for catering and family dinners. No dine in service, and the plantains are cooked just right ?. I have been back several times and will continue to go. Enjoy! ?Vegetarian options: Rice and peas, cabbage, greens etc.Kid-friendliness: Rice pea, chicken, Mac n Cheese. Greens.Wheelchair accessibility: Same floor entrance. One level.

This was a large order of oxtails . I wanted to split it between todays dinner and tomorrows dinner. Until, I learned that the order consisted of 6 oxtails and as you can see an abundance of rice. The flavor was awful . I’m not sure how to pinpoint-perhaps lack of freshness , missing key ingredients . I won’t order that dish again . I usually order the j wings and they do ok there for the most part .

I been eating here for years. I make a 30 minute plus commute for them . Food always taste the same, flavorful, tender and not dry. This the only carribean spot I will eat at I don’t care what other people recommend. People complaining about the food being more rice but other cultures do the same thing LOL. I’m being loyal to jam doung.

Very little beef in the patty. I placed my order on the kiosk, was charged a processing fee gratuity!! Why is gratuity automatically included after placing the order myself?
