My experience was simple . We never even took a seat. Firstly we and two other parties were crowded into the entrance waiting to enter about persons which was tight and uncomfortable) as we were waiting patrons. Walked up to pay their bill...and twice the entry line waited for those customers to pay their bill that seemed inefficient but, not a big deal After walking into the basement of this building zero windows) and looking at the overall condition of the restaurant hasn’t been updated in decades) we were simply underwhelmed. That in itself wasn’t a deal breaker. Eventually, we were escorted to a area labeled waiting area which was different and fairly within a few min we were greeted and were escorted to our table. As we approached we paused two other groups of people were crowded around the small cooking station in bar type seating with huge plexiglass barriers between the seats and the grill. Sitting shoulder to shoulder with complete strangers isn’t something we’re wanting these days and eating your dinner while staring at a sheet of plexiglass inches from your face isn’t my idea of ambiance. Meanwhile there were empty cooking stations .So,while crowding customers into cooking stations might work for the restaurant it doesn’t work for us! I would equate the setup to eating in a crowded elevator. After seeing all of this the over all impression was No !!!!!we’re not subjecting ourselves to this. We didn’t even take a seat advised the sever this setup doesn’t work for us and promptly exited. We’re not complex people and visit restaurants and pubs frequently. Never have I walked away without even taking a seat ever! We’re in our and have eaten happily around Victoria Canada and the world from MacDonald’s to fish and chips to Tapas to Saveur downtown Victoria never have I been so put off by the establishment that we walked before being seated. I grimace now thinking about it. Hard pass on this den Pass.

Extremely run down, POOR ventilation, very smokey and greasy from the teppanyaki. The big lady (cashier is extremely rude. It's fine dining price for low quality food, ambiance and experience. The secret sauce is just full of msg and salt to cover up the taste...of their bland food. Definitely would not recommend if you are in Victoria, much better joints to support. Everyone in our party deeply regretted going. Poor service and experience, will never return again.
