It really should have been much better. I was surprisingly disappointed. My dining companion's meal arrived lukewarm and, even though it was the special of the day, it was reportedly tasteless and not presented in an appealing way. My own dish was barely warm as well, and it lacked any flavor— the sauce was as bland as milk. Perhaps it actually was. Considering the inn's culinary ambitions, this was really unexpected. Even the cheesecake dessert was a letdown, with a crust so hard that the slice nearly jumped off the plate when I tried to take a bite. I truly enjoy supporting local businesses, but come on, make it happen, folks!
Service: The staff is incredibly attentive, offering excellent assistance with wine selections and food recommendations, while providing just the right amount of attention throughout your meal.
Food: Simply outstanding. From the introductory cocktail to the soup—packed with lobster—through to the main course and dessert, every dish was beautifully presented, high-quality, and absolutely delicious. This dining experience is certainly worth a visit.
Just a note about parking: it can be a challenge during busy times, which might be the only downside. Nonetheless, we will definitely return.
The rooms are beautifully decorated and well-appointed. The location is perfect—just a short stroll from downtown Middlebury. You can easily park your car and walk to all the charming shops. Dining at the restaurant is a truly delightful experience. Overall, I would rate the rooms a 5, the service a 5, and the location a 5. Highlights of the hotel include its luxurious atmosphere, stunning views, romantic ambiance, and peaceful surroundings.
Rooms: Good size and comfortable pillows. Please note that the rooms in the gatehouse are located on Route 7 and may experience some traffic noise, while the main house and carriage house are much quieter.

We received outstanding hospitality during our visit! The rooms were stunning, and the food and wine at Jessica's Restaurant were truly exceptional. Very cute b&b! Only complaints were our king bed was two twins pushed together (and the gap was noticeable) and the shower was very small, even for one average sized adult. Very friendly service, excellent location, and excellent breakfast! Rooms: 3 Service: 5 Location: 5
