The service leaves a lot to be desired— and I mean a LOT. I came today specifically because I was craving their renowned pumpkin pancakes, which are only available this time of year. I ordered them and took a seat. Unfortunately, the coffee and food arrived together, instead of the coffee coming first. That’s a major downside. On top of that, the pancakes arrived with neither butter nor syrup. They used to serve their delicious berry-butter mix, but that was missing too. I had to wait endlessly for the butter while the server seemed preoccupied behind the counter.

ok guys, this is a MUST GO TO breakfast spot.... its not fancy like some of the places I post about. But this is by far the best breakfast I've eaten in years. Nov 13, 2023 They have made some changes, not really good, from a long time regulars perspective. But the food was good (less of it, but still good). The menu is less than half of what it used to be, most of the burgers are gone. You are now expected to order and pay before finding a table, the place was empty today, but in a busy rush, I don't really want my food getting cold while I find a table to sit at. And, of course, prices on each dish have been increased pretty dramatically.
Tasty food but it's not the glory that it used to be, the price rose (that's to be expected) and the portions shrunk. There's a bit of language barrier, when my mother and I asked for a half cooked scramble egg the waitress didn't understand. Also they forgot the fresh fruit that was included in my mom's meal until she reminded them.
I used to go to Joanne's in the 90's. It was unique, very fluffy pancakes served with a side of fresh fruit. It was known for the delicious muffins. Post pandemic, it is different now. No more muffins, no more side of fruit. I did appreciate the cappuccino, which was nicely prepared.

Love this place! I've been coming here for years. Recently changed ownership. The new owner has kept the menu the same and great tasting food. The quality and quantity are still terrific. Jo Ann continues to be the best breakfast spot in town.
This is a spot for old school South San Francisco regulars as this place has been around since the '80s. A lot of their breakfast dishes have Mexican flair to them, but you can always get standard breakfast staples also.
No, it's changed! The reviews are pretty spot on, but it is still the BEST Eggs Benedict! Prices up, fewer potatoes, but we will continue to visit! My husband's favorite place! Joann's Special every time he goes!
