I always drove past this eatery joint one too many times and saw that the line is always long way out of the door. So, I changed it up and turned into their parking lot for the first time and went in line. This place is so clean and the smells that resonate from the kitchen is to die for it’s so delicious. Obviously a family owned small business with big hearts! I tried their juicy Italian beef, with fries and an Italian ice! And OH MY GOD! So good. This place is legit and you won’t be disappointed. I’d recommend getting their early to beat the rush and make sure you have time because you will be waiting a while! But so worth the wait! Highly recommended!!
Definitely a trip to Comeback here. The Italian beef sandwich is just so good. The Italian ice cream is just so good. The fries are too good. Spent a little over $11 for beef sandwich, fries and large Italian ice cream as a whole. The lines are long, but move at a good pace. I waited about 15 minutes when I thought it was high dinner hours. The parking lot is quickly packed, so consider the parking lot on the street somewhere or parking far. If I can give this place 10 stars, I would. It's just so good. An important tip to remember: DIESER PLACE is just CASE. Another tip: They offer gift certificates but in $10 increments!
Unbelievable taste! Amazing value. This place can't be beaten. The smell will awaken you when you get close, and you will go from 6 to midnight. Then your mouth will water like Niagara Falls on the Sahara. Your stomach takes you the rest of the way and you will not be disappointed. I recommend it juicy and with hot peppers. This place offers a completely legal experience unlike other places in the Continental USA. Tony was right in this place, like most things. I really appreciate you reading like that, but please stop and go right there!!
Ooh boy , I don’t know where to start , it’s amazing and it’s one of those you can’t describe enough but we are happy campers after all I’ve been coming here for the last 25 years and now I’m bringing my son to experience the true love of Italian Beef and couldn’t be better They are amazing and super fast in service and great experience from the moment we pulled over until we left This is a must try for those who love Italian beef and for the ones don’t because after this sandwich of Italian beef you Will definitely fall in love of it
My mom had been talking about this place since I was a kid. This is the local place the highschool kids would go to during lunch when she was in school. So I decided to surprise her and take her back. She said food is just as delicious as she remembers! The Italian ice is so good and a decent size! Definitely Recommend. Just a heads up the line gets long but moves very quickly. And they only take cash there is an ATM 1/2 a block away though if you forget.
Hands down the best Italian beef in Chicago. Johnnie is an institution and a must for anyone living in Chicago. Your beef has so much taste and the bread keeps beautiful. Their French fries are perfectly thin and fried. Hot peppers are hot! And nothing is more satisfying that her lemon ice cream. Fair warning it gets pretty busy during peak hours. Only cash and seating outside. Eating is coming out!
Best thing I ate in Chicago. I'll dream of eating this sandwich again. The menu is small, which is a good thing. They had my sandwich ready before I could pull my wallet out. WOW! Everything here is perfect. Had a combo sandwich with the lemonade ice and I had to go back through and get the Italian beef sandwich. My friend also went back for seconds. There are others in Chicago with great beef but this experience was awesome. The sandwich is only $5.83.
