Went here at the recommendation of an acquaintance. Not friendly at all. Cash bar only. No food menu. Only regular beers on tap. The Yuengling tasted bad. It was only $2 but still. Definitely a dive bar. Not for visitors. Only locals allowed. I came for some good beer and good food for lunch. This place has neither. Had I known it was cash only before he poured the beer, I wouldn't have stayed. I felt obligated to use their atm in the back with the high $2.50 fee on a $20 withdrawal. My beer with the fee cost $4.50. I will not be back. There are better and friendlier places in Boonton.
My wife and I just moved to Boonton. While familiar with the area, I had never been to this hidden gem before. After a week of staying in our new home to clean and unpack, we decided to walk the 0.9 miles hoping this place would live up to the hype. It exceeded our expectations! Bartenders and regular patrons were welcoming. Got a beer and a very strong cocktail; for $8.00 back from a $20.00 bill. Both the bartenders and the bouncer were happy to recommend other restaurants in the area. We will certainly be returning!
Dear Johnnie's, I'm sorry for only giving you 4 stars. I was young and naive. I didn't fully appreciate $2 draft beer and the occasional free sandwich that seems to somehow appear whenever I visit. As much as I thought I liked local dive bars, I'm not sure why I didn't put my stars where my mouth is. Johnnie's is a top notch local bar where you don't have to be a regular to feel like one. I'm finally making this my go-to spot and I would love to see you here, free sandwiches or not .
Cheap and Busy Walked in this place on a Sunday night expecting it to slow. We're we wrong. I like everything about the place. It's loud, the patrons are getting drunk, sports on TV, music is playing, shuffleboard table, and sassy bartenders. The place consistently has drink specials every night and you can just tell this bar is neighborhood institution. If you looking to grab drinks and carry on this place checks all of the boxes. Great local no frills dive bar. This bar may look like an old man bar, but it 's filled with young folks every night. I always have a blast when coming here and I do go often. It is cash only (atm on site) and they do have carry out goods. Great beers on tap and AMF jukebox app is available. Would def recommend to anyone looking for a chill dive bar.
This is definitely my favorite gay bar in Boonton! Bartender Pete is so kind and friendly. You’re sure to have a great time here, whether you’re a bear or a twink. Strictly on the basis of a watering hole, this is hands-down my favorite dive in the Boonton area. You just can't beat the prices, the bartenders here are cool, the place has mojo in its look and vibe. This is one of my favorite dive bars, period. Highly recommended, go and enjoy.
This is the best bar I've ever visited, whether you're gay or not! The deals are unbeatable, and the drinks are poured to perfection. I love that the tax is included – it’s fantastic!
