A popular local favorite ice cream shop I’ve never made it here for lunch. It was a steady flow of customers clearly well liked. The service was great lovely people fast service my meal for roughly $12 was generous and healthy and fresh made. Tuna on wheat, I dumped the 2oz pasta that came with on the larger green salad. All a good delicious easy lunch. I really appreciate the Johnsons has nondairy ice cream I can get in a scoop or a small quantity without having to buy a pint. Pleasant atmosphere. I did four stars not five because the place needs a serious wipe down a really good scrub mopping tables and ledges wiped off really good a really good scour through. I understand staffing is hard...
That Olde fashioned ice cream shop with modern equipment. I eat healthy and there is nothing wrong with authentic ice cream, however they have corn syrup instead of cane sugar and they add carregean to thicken it without having to freeze it so hard that it is difficult to scoop. Only 5 ingredients are needed cream, vanilla bean, egg yolks, sugar and a mineral rich salt. For me this is close enough to be a carnavore ice cream. If people wanted this healthier version with none flavor than just vanilla then they could add toppings.
So I ordered a coffee milkshake, and asked them to make it out of their Coffee ice cream, and their cappuccino frozen yogurt. Their cappuccino frozen yogurt is actually cinnamon flavor. Their coffee ice cream is flavorless and bland. So I ordered a coffee milkshake and I got one that mostly tasted like nothing, but had a hint of cinnamon. Very disappointed to say the least. I couldn't even finish it. But atleast it was real ice cream. That, and the fact that the staff were friendly accounts for 2 stars instead of 1 star.

My date was impressed! She had the peach ice cream and I had a 2 scoop sundae w/ chocolate marshmallow vanilla peanut butter. This place rocks... We'll be back soon. All the way from Dayton, Ohio. Johnson's Ice Cream has been a family favorite every since I was a child. I will be 53 the 4th of June so, that let's you know that this shop has stood the test of time. Customer service, efficiency of your orders and a great atmosphere. I am now 54 years old and this spot still does it for me
