There are pizza places opening and closing all the time in Biarritz. This restaurant opened in place of the excellent Bibi Brasserie which I'm very surprised closed down.All of the other pizza restaurants in Biarritz serve approximately the same type of modern pizza: American style with more cheese than any other ingredient. Having been spoilt and eaten original pizza in Naples I am yet to find somewhere that replicates the experience but Joie comes very close and is miles ahead of everywhere else in town.
LISTEN. I make a life in the world and this is the best pizza I've ever tasted. The crust is a perfectly baked handmade fluffy crust and the sauce! I don't know what they put in there, but the combination of sauce and mozzarella LITERALLY couldn't make my mouthwater anymore. It's perfect. I lived in Biarritz for three years and this is by far the best pizza place I was in town. Not to mention very friendly and transferable employees. Going in feels like home. I recommend!
A real hipster-pizzeria in the heart of the surfing city. The pizzas were acceptable although not spectacular. We all enjoyed the food - but it was a bit simple – and they did not have a variety of pizzas to choose from. The buffalo mozzarella cheese was to melted down and therefore lost its quality. If you look at the pictures they will give you an idea whats it is like
The place is completely new, the local well appreciated long traditional bar is gone... the traditional simple dishes on the card too. Now pizza... prices rather high for the region. But ... Tasty!! That chef must come from Napoli. Here you find the real pizza, even the rarely found white pizza (without tomato base) you will be able to taste in various versions.

After the first night at Joie we went back for at least 2 times in a city full of it’s finest cuisines. Says it all. Fantastic Italiën dishes, with the most charming owner who makes you want to wait a little longer. : Thank you, till next time!
Warm service in a relaxed atmosphere. Smiley waitress, good pizzas, big salad. We'll be back soon!
