Our date night consists of trying a different restaurant each Saturday night in Hurstville to find our favourites. We love Malaysian food and have been to Malaysia multiple times, so were thrilled to try this place. The food and prices are the best thing about this little restaurant. So I'll start with the positives: the dishes we ordered were all so delicious. We had chicken satay with perfect peanut sauce, deep fried tofu with homemade sauce was divine, KL Pork Rice was so delicious with a perfectly fried egg on top and the butter prawns were fantastic. I had a coconut juice and a teh tarik - which tasted as good as anything I've had in Singapore and Malaysia. The prices were very reasonab...

I went there with some friends for lunch. Well weren't we totally excited by this little gem of a restaurant. I tend to avoid malaysian restaurants in Sydney because i find the food too heavy and not enought malay selection - they usually have more thai or indian on offer than malay so the malay isusually limited to satays and a rendang. Kampong boy had a generous menu covering entrees mains vegetables and drinks. We started with mixed chicken and beef satay which was fragrant and tender and not slathered with a commercial satay sauce. We had a spicy roll thinggy which again was fragrant and tasty. We all fought over the last bits of the chicken curry which fell off the bone in a spicy yummy...

Kampong Boy is a family run Restaurant serving Malaysian Cuisine. The Restaurant greets you with a relaxed ambient, with a nice light hearted background music and a simplistic decor with hints of traditional Malaysian Culture. I ordered their Chicken Curry, Mix of Chicken and Beef Satay, and their Sambal Kangkong. I would rate the food they served above average as compared to their competitors. While their dishes are suited to those with lighter pallate, they makes up for it with the quality of dish. I can tell that they put more effort in their dishes than many others. For example, the texture of the potatos in the curry has a soft inside and a crusty skin, suggests that it went through boi...

So when I went there with family, I had ordered a laksa, nasi lemak with curry chicken and some dried noodles. Trying my sister's laksa, I thought that hers tasted the best. The dried noodles were very average and my nasi lemak had a great taste, though I was only served three tiny pieces of chicken. It was abit confusing to see the waitresses serving us then hurriedly trying to cook the meal. The table designs could also be more proportional and identical. Overall it was just average. Visited the eatery last Friday. The 'Fried Sea Food Hor Fun' looked ok on serving but only had three medium sized prawns(without any natural sweetness) and a few very thin slices of fish cake on top for $13.80 was a bit pricey. The Satay Chicken meat was well marinated but the dipping sauce was mere blend thin curry gravy. Disappointed with the dishes. Nothing close to the quality at Mamak restaurant.

I love this Malaysian restaurant! It's at the end of Forest Road restaurants, close to Queens Road. It's very tiny, but food there is always good. It's recently renovated, and it's neater and brighter and there is now more seats. They don't have a big menu, but what's on the menu are the classic delicious Malaysian food. *cash only

Service and value is quite good here. I ordered the laksa and some satay for about $15. Food here isn't too bad I wouldn't consider it amazing but a great alternative if you can't be bothered driving to the city for good laksa or satay.

This place has one of the best, heart warming laksas in town. A small restaurant that packs a punch. Hot food with really quick, friendly service. If you're looking for a good Malaysian feed in hurstville. This is the place to go. Reserva una mesa ahora

Great food, reasonable prices. My 6 year old loved the chicken skewers and the chicken rice. We loved everything else. Will be back to try more.
