Kanji Steakhouse And Sushi

I started with the Abalone Appetizer, which is incredible. It features sliced abalone served with three of Roger's signature sauces, alongside an abalone and crab salad. Previously, the salad was presented in a real abalone shell, but now it's served in a simple glass bowl. My wife ordered oysters, and they served us five delicious oysters with a sauce on the side. We both loved them. For my main course, I had the Sashimi Deluxe, while my wife enjoyed the Two Thumbs Up Roll along with a spicy tuna and avocado roll, opting for brown sushi rice. We had a plan to go to the Jersey Shore Premium outlets, but we knew we would be at a time that would disturb the dinner, so I turned on the Internet to find an interesting restaurant in the area. TLDR: Good food, great atmosphere. We ordered sushi and hibachi, both were very good! The sweet potato roll in particular was very good. The smoked salmon roll was alright, nothing to brag about though (probably won't be ordering again). The spring rolls were excellent! The hibachi vegetable was good. It wasn't too salty which was nice, and the noodles and rice were both cooked well. The cucumber roll was good, nothing special though. The place was very clean, but smelled slightly like chlorine—almost like we were at an indoor pool or something. The atmosphere was very good; nice dim lighting and soft music made the experience enjoyable. Overall, great Japanese place in the Shrewsbury area....

Delicious food and a wonderful atmosphere. I’m usually hesitant to try new Japanese restaurants, but after hearing so many positive reviews about Kanji, I decided to give it a shot. Upon arriving, I was immediately taken in by the interior design and overall ambiance, which felt more upscale. The food was outstanding, albeit a bit pricey; I sampled both sushi and hibachi. The specialty rolls were delightful, and the hibachi portion was generous and flavorful. The staff was courteous, and I even had the pleasure of chatting with the owner who was present. The good: prompt, friendly service. Delicious food! The warning: if you don't like avocado, your special sushi roll options are limited. we ended up here after a movie because it was close and the reviews were great. We ordered a few different options, and our food came out quickly, and the prices were about the same as many other places, but the portions were quite large, which was a plus! I noticed that there were very few Special Rolls that didn't have avocado, so we tried the few that didn't have it. That did make ordering a bit easier, but it was a bit of a bummer. Overall though, I would definitely go here again next time I'm at Monmouth Mall!

The best sushi place i actually think i’ve ever tried. I’ve been to many sushi places and the freshness of their food is so good! The fish just tastes so amazing because of its simplicity. Everything here is so good because they make it taste so fresh and homemade. The hibachi is also so great too. There’s not too much of a salty taste or a greasy taste, it just tastes so fresh. I recommend this place to anyone in or out of the area. I would drive 2 hours for a place like this

Fantastic! My fiancée and I frequently visit Kanji, and we absolutely love it. The portions are generous, the fish is incredibly fresh, and the service is excellent! The waiter is really friendly, and the ambiance is both beautiful and romantic. The prices are quite reasonable, and despite it usually being busy, we've never had to wait for a table. I'm particular about my sushi, and I wholeheartedly recommend Kanji to everyone. They offer a great variety of rolls!

Fellow parents recommended it. Kids had a great time. Mine was nervous to try the food, and loved a lot of it. Great show, shows going on left and right so we could stand and see other tables or they had private spaces too. I grew up on benihana. So I don't think anything can compare, this is great and they're right behind my house. They cook with vegetable oils? Enjoyed the food, sushi is amazing, tastes very fresh. We actually enjoyed it more than the Hibachi. Definitely fresh seafood. Atmosphere is very intimate and the service is attentive. No Alcohol is served here so it may be a BYOB, didn't think to ask. You may want to call and find our. Standard mask requirements are kept due to the pandemic.

Good sushi! I enjoy having the maki lunch spicy tuna and eel avocado. It comes with miso soup and salad (the ginger dressing on salad is delicious). They do a great job packing the food and giving me the ginger, wasabi, utensils, soy sauce and napkins. Lunch was about $14. They always do a fine job and they have great service.
