Kanpai Japanese Steak Sushi

I used to dine at this restaurant a couple of times a month because the food was fantastic. However, I haven't been back in about a year and was disappointed to find that the quality has significantly declined. I ordered a medium rare steak and shrimp, along with fried rice, a baby squid appetizer, and some sushi. Unfortunately, the steak was well done instead of medium rare, and while there may have been some vegetables, they were so scant that I could hardly confirm their presence. What a wonderful surprise we found while visiting in Little Rock! A employee at our hotel suggested we look for a place to eat in north Little Rock and we had so many choices. Asian sounded good. We were greeted quickly by a friendly server and seated immediately! It was 5:30! Our beverages were quick to come also. I ordered the tempura dinner and my partner ordered Teriyaki Beef. Oh my goodness you all, they both were so good! The tempura was cooked just right and there was soOoo much!! And the Teriyaki was out of this world! Standard Japanese steakhouse. Similar prices to others. I 've had better else where but not bad. My down point was they have no yummy yummy sauce! You know the traditional yummy orange sauce I thought all of them had! Thats in my opinion what makes it so good. I asked for some and it was definitely honey mustard they gave me lol. Not ok.

We celebrated my son's 18th birthday here and the staff were amazing. We were greeted promptly and everyone was so friendly. The chef was excellent and made the experience so much fun. It was perfect for our needs. The sushi was alright—nothing extraordinary, but it tasted fresh and was reasonably priced. Their drinks are quite strong, so watch out! The service was excellent and quick. We ordered seven rolls, two pieces of nigiri, a seaweed salad, and an alcoholic drink for $65.

Good food and friendly staff, though sometimes there is a language challenge with the servers. They will accommodate any menu item to cater to the customer. The teriyaki beef is delicious. Ask your chef to add a little Sriracha when they use the teriyaki. Perfect blend of sweet and spicy.

Tons of room. Ok on parking. The food was yummy. Large portions. The edamame was seasoned just right. Service was quick. We chose to not sit at the grill. Huge sushi menu. Plenty of options to choose from. Staff was friendly.

Been here twice, both times the food and service was great! Ginger dressing is awesome and the steak is perfect! Great vibe all around!

The chicken was quite fatty and not white meat. I'd recommend sticking with the shrimp and steak instead. The rice, however, was good.
