Katie's is a staple in Waco, and their ice cream is FRESHHH. They make their ice cream daily, and you can tell by how fresh and creamy it is. I can honestly say this is one of the best ice cream locations in Waco. I'm working my way through all the flavors on the menu as a new resident. They also have new flavors of the month, and this month it's peach and cream. My friend and I ended up opting for the butter pecan, and it did not disappoint!
Came by after dinner and tried the texas turtle (pecans, hot fudge and caramel with vanilla custard) an order of dirt and bears sundae (vanilla custard, topped with Oreos and gummy bears). Lastly, rocky road sundae (chocolate custard, pecans, hot fudge and marshmallow cream). All were mediocre, definitely have had better custard in Texas and pecans could have been fresher. All the add on's (fudge, caramel) tasted artificial.
Love all the choices! I don't live in Waco, but anytime I visit I have to stop at Katie's! Delicious! Service is top notch...very friendly. Love the covered area I love the weather. I am from the Houston area...I would never eat outdoors during the summer here...
Custard is so much better than ice cream, yes it has more fat in it, but you aren't eating it everyday. I get the hot fudge Sunday with extra whip cream, no cherry. It's to die for! Reserva una mesa ahora
I had a banana nilla cyclone gotta have that whipped cream!! Also ordered a grasshopper was told it was pretty tasty!! Fast friendly service!
Has the banana custard. They use fresh bananas to blend in and it hit the spot! Next time will add peanut butter to it!
