This restaurant was quite disappointing. We traveled 100 miles round trip to try it out, but were not impressed. When our appetizer, a Portobello stuffed mushroom for $15, was brought out, there were no plates provided to eat it with. The dish was not stuffed as described, only having some melted cheese and herbs sprinkled on top, making it overpriced. We had to request bread, while other tables received it automatically. My crawfish etouffee entree was served cold, and when sent back to the kitchen, it was microwaved to the point where the crawfish became chewy and rubbery. First time customers (my aunt and myself).A quiet and quaint restaurant with a soft ambiance.We started with calamari and shrimp bisque. Both were amazing however the temp of the bisque was not hot enough. The calamari on the other hand was mind blowing. Auntie Kells had a Margarita. I had a vodka martini.Her main course was chicken piccata while mine was an unbelievable roasted lamb shank. The mashed potatoes with mine had a creamy buttery flavor. Always a go to restaurant that never disappoints! I love all there seafood dishes and appetizers! We always get the mussels when they are available and the Texas brown shrimp. The sea bass is to die for! We love 1424 because its always consistent and never have a bad experience even when we take out of town guest. Great for any occasion if your budget allows you! Also great cocktails too
The scallops were fantastic. The atmosphere and service were both outstanding. Chase was very friendly and made sure we were well taken care of. This is a great spot for a date night or just to enjoy a glass of wine on the patio. They also offer three vegan options for dinner. Plenty of parking is available in the attached lot. Great dinner! Our party of 6 had a great waiter and he made awesome dinner recommendations. Three of us had the chicken piccata, the others had halibut, lamb chops, and the pesto linguine. We ended dinner with the cheese cake. The whole restaurant staff was friendly and helpful. You absolutely have to have the flaming cheese!
