Katie's Kitchen In Des Pla

I must have passed this place a million times on my way to work when I worked in downtown Des Plaines. However, on the occasion of my visit, I was out with friends elsewhere when I was invited to Katie's Kitchen. It's a cute storefront location in a strip mall at the southeast corner of Wolf and Central. It's a cute mom and pop place...and it's pretty darn inexpensive. Oh, and the food is delicious. Our server was very friendly and was quick to bring drinks, take our order, and bring our food to us. I think it took 10 minutes from the time she took our order, to entering it on the POS system, to bringing it to our table. All four of us got the All American Breakfast with different variations...

I go here all the time because it's close to my home but I would even if I moved because I am yet to be disappointed. This is the first place that, as a southerner, I believe these folks do country fried steak and even fried green tomatoes well! Super friendly and accommodating staff and you can't miss on the menu. Highly recommend for a nice low-key breakfast joint without the frills of the typical brunch place.

5 stars for the service. Our server was so nice and so sweet to our kids. She knew exactly what they were talking about, and she waited so patiently. The restaurant was so clean and beautiful, and the tables were so comfy. The food was to die for, and they had every topping imaginable. 10/10 would recommend.

If you look at my account you can see I usually leave bad reviews (that are justified), BUT I always have to give credit where credit is due. If you aren't in Highland Park or Antioch. Food was amazing. It was fresh and tasted like someone's grandma was back there can cooking breakfast. 9/08/24~ Every time I come to this restaurant, I love the warm and inviting atmosphere and the food is great. This is my number one spot for brunch

My Mom and Dad love it here. All of the staff know them and have their regular orders memorized. Everything there is great, I’ve never had anything I didn’t like. The food is always fast and delicious.

Food was ok, potatoes were not really my jam, they tasted sweet, not my style, but the coffee was fantastic and the service was 2nd to none, they deserved 5 stars
