This place is the best place to eat in Hilo. I'm a picky eater, very picky. I love Japanese foods. This place has foods that remind me of older Hawaii. Like grandma's cooking. Simple yet tasty. You cannot order just one item! Lines can get long, and if you go too late foods can run out! The customer service here is one of a kind. These days it's so rare to find customer service like what this place offers. Really, like old Hawaii customer service. You know. Before all the big corps and foreigners. This business has my lifetime support! (as long as they don't sell ; Kawamoto, please never change!!! I miss business styles like this!

Great place for an impromptu custom bento. The line was a few feet out of the door, so had to wait about 20 minutes to take the order. If you notice that a patient takes your order then go fill your order and meet in the register to pay. Don't worry that you have a lot of time when you get into all the food options they have in the case. Everything tasted great and fulfilled the desire. Do not forget to order at least one portion or two of long rice, nishime (salted root vegetables), Mac salad. They had a Portuguese pimple on the white board for $6. Large rice vinegar-based pimple option that helped cut through the fried options.

This has some of the best food in town. The nori chicken is amazing but always sold out. Gotta get there early if you want any. Everyone behind the counter is super friendly and always smiling. I would recommend this spot for breakfast/lunch any day!

The reviews don't lie. This place is incredible. Priced phenomenal, this is a great place to get Japanese favorites that are made perfect. Loved the noodles, ono, tempura green beans/shrimp/sweet potato. Korean chicken was also very good. Reserva una mesa ahora

First timer here..The customer service is exceptional, the line can get long but worth it. *Early bird gets the worm. One dude stood out the most he has a positive vibe and very welcoming. Aloha definitely is served here!

Very recommended! Choose from the glass window what you want. Fast service, lots of change, tastes so fresh! There was a line, but it's moving fast. Arrival early to hit the crowd before selling the best products!
