Kenji Japanese Dining Camberwell

We had a slightly disappointing experience here. What appears to be a very small takeaway place we found to have a dining room to the side which was full when we went despite being around 6pm on a weeknight. The food took a very very long time to come, and the entree we ordered as we sat down arrived last. Some of the food was warm rather than hot, but I have to say a couple of dishes were absolutely delicious. Overall cannot see myself returning.

Ordered take away. The vegetarian bento box was bland and the tofu was under cooked. The teriyaki chicken was also flavourless and underwhelming. The young man at the front counter was rude and when asked for take away bag he just gave me a bag to pack all my items. Should have gone to our regular take away place a few doors down Nanas. Really disappointing and over priced.

Located in an arcade off busy Toorak Rd with plenty of parking at the rear. Dropped in for Saturday lunch on the way past. Had a selection of hand rolls including some with brown rice. Also had miso soup. Above average food. Good service and pleasant place to have a quick and quiet lunch while on the go. Reasonable prices and good value.

Great local Japanese cafe. The decor and interior is nothing flash but the food is delicious, fresh and great value for money. Highly recommend the sushi and the bento boxes. It is always busy so get there early for dinner or make a booking. The desserts are also very authentic especially the Green Tea ice cream.

I like this place Nice Japanese lunch, price is reasonable, with ample parking space nearby, friendly service.
