‘Kicho’ is a lovely experience for those wanting ‘Clean Japanese Food’. I would say the highlights were the ‘Gyoza’ with the crunchy textured lace coating, Gyoza underneath salad on top; and the ‘Karage Chicken with Truffle Aioli’. As a ‘Tofu’ freak, ordering the ‘Agedashi Tofu’ I would have preferred a crispier firmer Tofu with a bit of ‘crunch’, in order to soak up the sauce. The Silken Tofu fell apart, whilst eating as it was just too soft, it was hard to eat with chopsticks to pick up all the soft remaining pieces. I would prefer a firmer Tofu perhaps with a Tempura coating. The ‘Special’ Pork Ribs I would have enjoyed a stronger sauce Maybe Honey) to add to this dish, the small amount o...

The vegan creamy tofu dish at Kicho is outstanding and one of the best vegan sushi dishes I've ever had. The tofu agedashi dish is also superb, and the cauliflower is delicious. The edamame and chips are great as well. Every vegan dish is fantastic, and they are knowledgeable about gluten-free options, which was highly appreciated by my coeliac girlfriend. It would be helpful if they listed the vegan options on the menu, but the staff are quick to point them out when asked. The decor and ambiance are great, and I highly recommend making a reservation. A visit to Kicho in Black Rock is a must, and you can take the 600, 922, or 923 buses from Sandringham Station or find ample parking nearby.

The food at this restaurant was delicious, with the standout dish being the yakitori. The gyoza was a close second, with its unique texture and the addition of salad making it a well-rounded dish. The tataki could have been more balanced in flavor. The service was friendly, although a bit rushed, as we were asked to settle our bill 15 minutes before our allotted time of 1 hour and 45 minutes, even though we had indicated we were not ordering any more food. It would have been nice to be able to sit a little longer. The use of non-disposable chopsticks and napkins would enhance the already pleasant dining experience. I would like to return to try some of the other dishes on the menu.

Asked the day before going if they could accomodate a young one who loves plain grilled fish. Arrived and was told the cod , at $35, was all they could serve! The king fish cudo was served in great big lumps not even sushi let alone marinated cudo. Stuffed zucchini flower was so so with over welling curry flavour. Been there a couple of times and it was good this wasn’t one of those times! Price per person: A$80–100 Reserva una mesa ahora

I had a fantastic dinner last night at Kicho. The food and service were excellent. My favorite dishes were the wagyu and the fish croquettes. I highly recommend visiting Kicho, you will not be disappointed. My only regret is not going sooner. Service: Dine-in Meal type: Dinner

This is probably the best Japanese restaurant in the area that I have visited. I highly recommend it. The service is excellent, and I dined in for dinner. The price per person is around A$100-$120. The food, service, and atmosphere all receive a perfect 5 out of 5 rating.
