The stunning facade of this historic building made it virtually impossible to walk past, and once inside the whole experience was just as impressive. Breathtaking architecture, complimented by tasteful period artefacts, sympathetic lighting and twickling candle light made me feel like I had stepped back in time. There was a warm welcome by the attentive staff and knowledgeable help selecting from the fantastic range of well kept ales. The food was great too, including an imaginative selection of pies and flavoured mash. I'd recommend the moo and bloo (Steak and blue cheese pie) with horseradish mash. The owner was very friendly and obviously has a keen eye for detail, because the whole exper...

Talk about history! Building dates from 1577 and it's the place in 1651 where King Charles II escaped from Cromwell's armies after the Battle of Worcester. Now it's this beautiful, archetypal historical British pub open fires, low ceilings, heavy woods, real ale on tap.Menu is also typically British in content but not in presentation a fabulous deconstructed Ploughman's Lunch on board arrived at my table along with a half of ale. Perfect lunch!

After shopping on a hot day this is just what you need, what a beautiful, refreshing atmosphere. Sat outside of course in the sun, struggled to choose between an iced coffee and a refreshing gin, but rhubarb and bramley apple gin won. Finished off with a tuna and cheese melt, could not get any better. Will definitly go back again on a colder day for the white chocolate bread and butter pudding.

Wonderful old wood paneling and steeped in history! If you like real ale, (and I counted at least six) and relaxed, comfortable surroundings, then don't let this place pass you by! They have speciality pies on offer also. Highly recommended! Reserva una mesa ahora

A pub with a real sense of history built in 1577, amazing selection of beers and a wholesome food menu. New owners only took over last week and welcome you like old friends. If you are in Worcester pop in and give it a try

A wonderfully traditional pub with 17th century wood panelling and a wonky floor upstairs. This friendly pub has a good range of beers many of which are local. They also serve tasty pies.

Beautiful food, very large portions so no need to bother with starter really. Very friendly and helpful. Decor bit stuffy and old fashioned, part of the charm I suppose. Reserva una mesa ahora

a wonderful pub that if they are one above the level, they feel pretty level head. However, if they are not imbibed the floor levels they could leave.
