King Henry Arts Cafe

Not too far up from 1000 steps. Been here couple of years ago & had great Devonshire tea. This time - a late afternoon visit for Devonshire tea again. Olde English ambience with deep richly coloured walls, antique style furniture, fireplace & chandeliers. Love it though the flavour of scones has gone down a bit. Friendly service & was not so busy at this time on Good Friday. Nondescript entry in front - park at rear & enter from the back. Much better option than tourist trap overpriced Miss Marples for Devonshire tea in my opinion. No booking needed but advisable I think for bigger groups during busy times.

We met up with friends here. This was the 4th visit for us. It was a cold day so this time we sat inside. 3 of us had the King Henry burger. One of the friends is coeliac and had no trouble ordering a suitable meal. Great atmosphere and friendly service.

Spur of the moment visit with friends. Very quaint and the Pimpkin soup and the Lumberjack cake was to die for. The only think that let the King Henry down was that it was chilly in the room we sat in.

Dropped in for afternoon tea, not a lot available, so had Devonshire tea, one coffee. Pleasant ambience, too cold for deckoutside. Colourful walls, decor with art and interesting nic nacs and history.

We had use of the function room downstairs , it was ideal , seats 20 plenty of room to move around in..service was good , menu was good as well
