I strongly advise against wasting your time or money at this restaurant. My party of four adults booked a Sunday lunch hoping for a good experience under the new management, but we were sorely disappointed. We paid in advance for the carvery and were given a buzzer to alert us when it was ready. Despite the restaurant not being busy, we waited for over 40 minutes with no service or attention from the staff. What a very disappointing lunch, From the meat being cooked then cut on a slicer to the veg being boiled to death. I have had better microwave meals that taste better than this food. The beef had been over cooked and because of this had become very tasteless. The frozen veg had lost its colour. The so called roast potatoes was just as bad only one choice of potatoes.. The best thing was the Yorkshire pudding. The meal was over priced for the quality of it. Its a shame when you can cook a roast at home much better. Systems seem to be set up for owners, not customers. You pay up front for the carvery then get given a buzzer. There was no one else in the restaurant, but we waited for 15mins then called over, not buzzed,then a big party arrived, so felt quite rushed. The meat was over cooked and dried out. It was left under lights without being covered. The veg was bland. Boiled leeks, carrots, white cabbage, peas. Gravy tasteless too. We didn’t stay for dessert. It’s a shame. A lot of money has been spent on renovating the pub, it looks great. I don’t think the owners are customer focused at all. I had a fantastic Sunday lunch at this restaurant. The carvery selection was excellent and all the food was fresh and delicious. The atmosphere was lovely and the restaurant was very comfortable. The new owners have really improved the place and the staff were cheerful and helpful. After our meal, we enjoyed a game of pool. The Sunday carvery was absolutely amazing. They had a fantastic selection of three meats, a sausage, and the biggest homemade Yorkshire puddings I have ever seen. They also offered cauliflower cheese, roast potatoes, six different vegetables, and real meat juice gravy. It felt just like a homemade roast dinner that your grandma used to make, leaving you feeling warm and satisfied. And to top it off, they had apple crumble and custard that was just wow.

Absolutely beautiful carvery all the food was very hot a lovely selection of veg to choose from the cauliflower cheese was the best we've had will definitely be returning with my family of 6 , even the kids said the food was delicious and the desserts good size portion overall definitely recommended 100% thank you king of hearts

Lovely Sunday lunch delivered to my door hot with a side of cauliflower cheese and piping hot gravy It was great after a busy Sunday morning to sit down and enjoy a home cooked Roast dinner and support one of our local pubs.

Very disappointing, menus very basic but high prices. We had Sirloin steak and a good quarter was fat and gristle. 3 toms a few chips a bit if dry salad leaves. Not worth £16.95

Just had a carvery and it was fantastic, best I have had for along time .The service was great ,the place is very clean, definitely recommend
