This evening we enjoyed the most delicious Cantonese cooking. Our menu was partly pre ordered by friends familiar with the restaurant. We were a party with two tables (17 guests) most of the guests had not dined at King Wong previously. The general consensus was most delicious eaten in Melbourne for very long time . Our dishes were old style Hong Kong fare with some small signature additions.The Chef 's perfect seasoning of every dish absolutely delighted us. It is obvious that the Chef loves his profession and understands the balance of tastes and textures in Cantonese cuisine. The ambiance is happy . Have been going here for over 5 years now. Some of the best Chinese food I have had, and I am including that comparison with some of the more well known city Chinese places. A good varied menu, good serving sizes, with one or two regional dishes not common in most suburban restaurant. I can highly recommend their crispy skin garlic chicken , and their Peeking Duck. Lots of other great dishes as well. Staff are really good, friendly and attentive. Can highly recommend this establishment.
be careful when you ordered from this restaurant, make sure you know the price. if not the owner might cheat you. when you ordered 500g of roast meat, make sure you check again, because they might charge you way too much extra and making excuse that they put more extra than what you ordered. not a very honest way to make business. oh yes. dont trust the price mentioned on the take away menu, they charged higher too.
