This is a venue with nice staff a funky atmosphere that was nonetheless ruined by noisy surroundings and uncomfortable bar stool seating. I booked this place for my wife and me and two other couples for dinner on Saturday 16 January. A tip: if...you do not like sitting on hard and backless high stools make sure you specify you want a table with normal chairs when booking. I did not as I stupidly assumed this is what we would get since it was a dinner thing, but we ended up being seated on a raised table with six hard timber high backless stools, despite begging the staff member to find us a proper table. We have been coming to Kipling 's for many years and always had a good experience, but sadly not this time. The first issue is there is no longer any Riesling wines on the menu, nor is there a pasta dish. They used to have a...good gnocchi. We were told they only have pasta in winter . Our two shared entrees were voted as very good, then came the disappointing mains. First main was Eggplant Parmigiana which was commented as tasteless. Two of our party had the Chicken Katsu which they both chose after enjoying it before. Our family went to Kipling's for lunch today. We haven't been at all this year due to the pandemic, but today we decided to go for lunch. It was busy and the service was as friendly as always, but we were disappointed to see that...the lunch menu appears to be the same as it was last year and maybe even the year before that. The food is OK, but the lunch menu needs a refresh. Can't fault the staff, they really are always friendly and attentive but I can't see us going back any time soon.

First timer. Came here for lunch with a colleague who frequents this place. Friendly and Covid safe. Tables well spaced apart. Waitress made sure we signed in with the QR code. we had a nice meal tonight. they were great with my intolerances, put sauces on the side and let me know about the ingredients. this is such a rare thing and has really made my day when I could have all the amazing food! definitely recommend and plan to go back!

We recently visited Kiplings for the first time since COVID and it was a very enjoyable birthday lunch. The food was delicious, service attentive and our family didn’t want to leave. We have regularly visited in the past and will be back again soon.

beautiful family dinner. great place on the north bank. and given is too time burning outside, the kamin made it warm and cozy. the chefs made for our intolerances. the atmosphere was great. thanks for a great wet Sunday.
