My first visit to Kirk's BBQ was fantastic. The moment we approached the restaurant, we were greeted by the incredible aroma of barbecue. The staff was friendly and we ordered 2 big ribs, 1 turkey link sandwich, and 1 pork link sandwich. Despite being told there would be a 45-minute wait, we were pleasantly surprised when our food was ready in just an hour. We were able to skip the line and collect our food promptly. The portion sizes were generous, especially with the big ribs that came with fries and wheat bread. Coleslaw could be added for an extra $0.50, but I am not a fan of it personally. Kirk, please go back to the way your turkey tips used to be. The prices have gone up and the portions have gotten smaller. Don't drive all your customers away. Stick to what was working before. My wife ordered a large portion and it looked much smaller. She also found quite a few burnt pieces in her food. Now we are both disappointed with our meal. The sauce is still good, at least. We have been loyal customers for years. Takeout service was good. Overall, the food was rated a 2, service a 5, and atmosphere a 5. The average price per person for dinner is $30-50.

I drove an hour and a half to get to the restaurant only to find that the service was poor and I spent $94. This was my first bad experience and I am very disappointed. I ordered a deep ribbed, large rib tip with sauce on the side and it was absolutely delicious, as was the mild sauce! The ribs were cut in small pieces, which was a bit unusual for me since it was my first time trying them, but I will definitely be returning again!

The wait time is unbelievable. At least a 1hr wait?I also was wondering if this was the original? The ones on 83rd cottage grove I believe the other ones were on 71st/75th st. Can someone let me know if it's the same owner?

the food was fabulous. the line was long, but it was my first time to go and it was worth waiting. I am definitiw back. the service was excellent and a very friendly staff.
