On Saturday at 11:30 am, just as the doors were about to open, a line had already formed outside. That’s a promising sign, I'd say. We timed it perfectly and were among the first to be seated as the place filled up quickly. Wow, the chicken and dumplings were the best I’ve ever had, especially on a chilly day, paired with their famous cornbread. I also shared an “Irish” sandwich with my wife, which featured deli-sliced corned beef, Swiss cheese, and tomato on jalapeño cornbread. What a delightful combination! We even bought a whole coconut buttermilk pie to take home for an event the next day—oh, it was so delicious!
We were passing through Jefferson on Friday and ate lunch across the street then we stopped in for pie. We got a slice of chocolate pecan and a slice of pecan to go. Slices were $4 each. The chocolate pecan was good very chocolately with a fully cooked crust. However the plain pecan was seriously undercooked crust was raw on bottom and the filling was runny. Pecan is about the easiest pie you can make but it is not good under or over cooked the filling is soft but should never be runny and the undercooked crust is inedible. Would not recommend.
When I saw this online and read the story behind the cornbread sandwich, I knew I had to eat here! It's only open for lunch and is a small building but it doesn't take too long to get seated. Along with cornbread sandwiches, they have soup and chicken and dumplings. Everything here was amazing and that cornbread sandwich is definitely worth a stop! Also, the staff is super friendly and very attentive even though there were only 3 people working that day. I will definitely be back!
Step by step process of how I ate at Kitts j Kornbread. 1. Smoke some flower. 2. Crave cornbread. 3. Pie sounds pretty good too. 4. Kitts Kornbread and Pie. 5. Eat Texan with chili. 6. Finish within 45 business seconds. 7. Eat Pie. 8. Barely able to finish but forces it because it's so good. 9. Go home to try and leave a 6 star review. 10. Can't, I'll settle for 5.

The staff were friendly, and the atmosphere was relaxed, making for a pleasant dining experience. We really enjoyed our cornbread sandwiches along with the broccoli salad and chicken and dumplings. The service was efficient, even with the diner becoming busy right as it opened. For dessert, the key lime pie was both tart and delicious.
Such a great and unique place. we really enjoyed our sandwiches. Hubby had the Irish, I went Italian, we both had the jalapeño cornbread. Very filling! Save room for pie. we didn't. Melissa was our waitress. Great service, very knowledgeable and friendly. We will definitely go back and try the pies.
Order the REDNECK!!!! OMG that sandwich is to die for. Fried bologna cheese, mayo, onions and lettuce. Plus brought back awesome memories of when my dad and I would go to a little place in Ft. Worth, TX for fried bologna sandwiches. Life is good!
This restaurant offers a unique twist on sandwiches that is definitely worth trying. The service was excellent, the prices were reasonable, and I would absolutely come back.

We really enjoyed our lunch at Kitt's. The cornbread sandwich was different but good. There is a limited menu, but should be something for everyone, and the pie was great.
BEST. SANDWICH. EVER. It’s that simple. I find myself craving this sandwich it’s ridiculous how amazing something so seemingly simple can rock your world.
