This restaurant located inside the same hotel name Kloster Stuble, more easier to find by hotel address on a small street off Herrngasse near the castle garden. This is a classy place for delicious and beautifully presented traditional cuisine (more dishes specialize of Franconian recipes than...Bavarian). This is the right place to try homemade Maultaschen soup. Maultaschen are a kind of large meat filled dumpling in Swabian cuisine. My visitor wanted to eat local food, so we entered the Klosterstüble after visiting the "castle garden and the castle with its gate. They have special food and the usual Franconia food. I tasted the duck breast salad which was extremely good, but the asparagus dishes including the asparagus cream soup were perfectly done too. The service was friendly and very attentive. So we enjoyed a wonderful lunch under the sonny blue sky of Rothenburg.

We booked the day before and we were pleased that we had as they were clearly full. We shared a caramelised goats cheese as a starter, delicious. Then we both chose the maulthausen which were superb too. A bottle of excellent local riesling and the...bill was very reasonable. Best restaurant that we tried in Rothenburg. Recommended.

Great place to stay. Great location, lovely rooms, fab Breakfast and you won't get a better host than Erica - she works her socks off to give you a wonderful stay. Hope to get back this year.

We had two meals here. Had a sausage plate for lunch and a Cordon bleu for the evening meal. If we had stayed another day, we would have dined there again.

Delicious meal and fair prices. For us it was the best restaurant in Rothenburg of those we tested and they were really kind.
