Thought we'd stop by for a drink and some lunch last Saturday. As it was quite a nice day we nabbed the inviting table in the courtyard. All good so far. An absolute shame that the outside contrasted so much with the outright hostility of...the staff who when asked if they had a menu said, There isn't one and pointed to the tatty blue-tacked pieces of paper festooning the counter. Needless to say we left immediately, never to return. Sadly I can't comment on the food but preferring to take our custom where we'd be slightly more welcome than a fart in a space suit, I would heartily unrecommend this place.
had a warm reception from a younger lady when I came in, but the other lady was incredibly rude and unwilling to serve us. I thought we were a huge inconvenience. I think this is more than a Deli/Sandwich shop,...not a seat in ' caffe, but there is really no apology for rudeness that this lady certainly didn't want that customers to stay! a shame as she could be at a beautiful place and could be good if the personal was more professional (although it could be just the one dame and we were unhappy to meet her.)
Located in the Forge shopping center, Cakes is my favorite deli of all time. The food is always fresh, with a great selection of salads, homemade cakes (thanks to Ewan), hot and cold sandwiches, and specialty dishes. Don't miss out on the pork on Wednesdays and steak on Thursdays. In the winter, they also offer homemade soup - the spicy pastor is fantastic! The Scotch eggs and spicy rolls are popular choices. The staff are always friendly and willing to help. Treat yourself and you won't be disappointed!
I have visited this restaurant in both its current location and when it was located further up on Church Street. The food is consistently excellent and homemade, just like your grandma used to make. The staff are always very friendly and there is no pretentiousness or arrogance, just high-quality, honest food with excellent service.

I love Kuchene and use it regularly for lunch, they offer yummy salads, pasta pots and sandwiches at more than fair prices! Another great service I utilised over the Christmas period is their hampers, you can ring them up or pop in store to order...a hamper for whatever occasion, and they prepare it for you. Definitely worth a try!
I absolutely adore the meat and potato pies they serve on Thursdays at this restaurant. The cakes are scrumptious and the staff, particularly the ladies, are extremely helpful. They also offer a variety of other tasty dishes - I recommend trying the bacon sandwich or simply popping in for a quick takeaway toast and coffee.
I've been eating from here since I'm in school, I have a few buffets from here that were beautiful, great variety, and also sandwich orders at work every week, can't mistake the service the family that owns it can't be enough. do for them, and provide for their needs
Have used Kuchene for many years to provide food for special occasions. Birthdays, a family wedding and when having family members visiting. The food has been of excellent quality throughout this time and the service beyond our expectations.

We had a buffet selection for 40 people delivered to the house. Personalised to our tastes. Received many compliments . Birthday cake lovely too.
