I have been a fan of LaBamba since they first opened their original location in Champaign, IL back in the late 80's/early 90's when I was in college there. When we later moved to Springfield, they opened a location there as well, which made me very happy. The quality of their fresh, casual Mexican food remained consistent from their original store. In 2018, my wife and I decided to adopt a vegan diet for health reasons, and LaBamba was one of the few fast food restaurants where we could still enjoy a satisfying meal. They were accommodating and made their burritos and tacos completely vegan while still keeping them delicious and filling.
I arrived at the restaurant after midnight, exhausted from a long night at work. The man working the grill was incredibly kind. I ordered the medium-sized burrito and it was much larger than expected. This burrito surpassed Chipotle in taste and size. I will definitely add sour cream, guacamole, and salsa next time. The chicken in the burrito was amazing! I'm planning on returning tonight with my girlfriend.
When you are super hungry, this is the place to go for less bucks big plates. They haven’t comprised on taste though. We ordered vegetarian Nachos and Vegetarian Burrito regular size. Taste was delicious and we couldn’t finish the plate. Coming to the hours as per board it says 2 AM but there were cleaning at 9 PM itself, so unsure of that.
By far the best Mexican food in town!!! Love love love the staff, they are so nice, personable, and accommodating! The rice is always cooked to perfection and the tacos are amazing. Highly recommended by me :

You can try to find a better burrito but more than likely you will fail. They almost know me by name but they definitely know what I want n how I want it.
I absolutely adore this restaurant! I can't get enough of their delicious hot sauce and their lemonade is the best I've ever tasted.
