La Bamba Sazon Latino

I 've eaten here for lunch on four occasions now over the past year or so. Service had been adequate C+ the first three times, but during the latest visit it was a solid D , very poor long wait, not especially friendly ... and the place wasn 't crowded at all. The food also has proved to be average to below average, as compared to other Mexican restaurants in the Black Mountain Swannanoa East Asheville area. As far as the atmosphere goes, it 's basically a hole in the wall, but the seats and booths were comfortable and the wall mounted TV was showing football or soccer. There are certainly better choices if you 're looking for tasty, well prepared Mexican fare in the area.

I used to love this restaurant the first time I dined here, but over the past year, the quality has significantly declined. The tamales have become small, hard rocks and the ACP dish, a classic, was disappointing with overcooked rice and rubbery chicken. The only redeeming quality is the friendly servers. I hope the owner steps in to address the issues with the food quality.

The restaurant has clean and comfortable booths with friendly and attentive staff. The guacamole salad and chicken fajitas were the best I've ever had. They were seasoned, prepared, and presented like you would expect from a much more expensive place. I am so glad we decided to stop here! Overall, the service was excellent. We visited for lunch.

I highly recommend trying the plantains at this restaurant! The service was excellent. We dined in for dinner and the price per person was between $10 and $20. The food, service, and atmosphere all received a perfect score of 5.
