Today, we visited the Clos des Roses for the second time in a year and experienced a true highlight of our trip to the South of France.The Clos des Roses is part restaurant, part hotel and part vineyard. You can taste their wine in the restaurant (including red, white or rose). We have not stayed in the hotel, thus cannot tell anything about it. The whole compound is located slightly outside Frejus. This was our first visit to Le Clos des Roses and we took away a very favourable impression. On a lovely summer-day we were booked in for lunch on their terrace. We arrived and found plenty of space available in their on-site carpark, including 2 places for EV charging. Arriving at the terrace restaurant, just a short walk from the carpark (follow the signs for restaurant and hotel we were promptly offered a choice of tables and pre-lunch drinks. We stayed here for two nights as we had a friend's wedding in the area. The hotel was stunning, with an amazing bathroom and a very comfortable bed. I have never stayed anywhere like this before, it was very unique. Some staff were a lot more friendly and helpful than others, one guy even gave us a lift as I had a hair appointment and it was going to be quicker than ordering a taxi (wish I had got his name), and we were very impressed.Unfortunately we only got to experience breakfast here (which was good) and no other meal so I can't really comment on the food.The surroundings were truly beautiful with the vineyard and the pool also looked amazing but we didn't have time to try. Lunchtime meal. Slightly disappointed. Firstly my martini and lemonade had 3/4 ants on the slice of orang, So returned it, no apology offered and no fresh bottle of lemonade provided when it eventually arrived . Staff appear very brusque and unfriendly, especially the waitress with dark hair. I felt afraid to ask them for anything as it seemed like it was too much trouble , Even though it wasn’t busy. This weekend I attended the most romantic, beautiful wedding in the most perfect venue!In front of the old stone chapel between the vines, roses and wild flowers we were treated to the sounds of a harp as the couple walked to the muslin dressed gazebo/ stage to sit upon huge white throws, lit candles of commitment and pledged their vows.It was very private and a perfect service, then we were all led to the fountain square for drinks and photos.Lunch was served smoothly, quickly and professionally, even accommodating the needs of the dog involved in the ceremony.All guests were delighted and impressed with the menu and quality of the produce used, dishes etc.I have also had lunch here prior t...
Romantic setting in a vineyard, although the dining room is modern and a less interesting with an associated outside dining area. Tables well spaced. We made use of the outside space for preprandial drinks before taking up an indoor table. Fortunately on our visit there were no smokers in the outside space and this would have significantly altered our dining experience. There are no fixed menus and therefore ordering a la carte seemed to be a relatively expensive option given no starter was much less than 20 euros. I was told about this place whilst on holiday in St Raphael/Frejus. If you don't have a car it can be a bit tricky to get to other than a taxi which will cost about 20 euros. It is close to the access onto the A8 but worth the journey.The vineyards are lovely as are the gardens around the hotel.The menus are basic with a choice of two, each offers a choice of 2 starters, 2 mains and 2 puddings. Set price on both.The food is the best I have ever eaten in St.Raphael/ Frejus. I have visited these locations about 10 times over the last few years as I am a regular traveller here. Restaurant is set in a great location. The food was excellent both the set menu and carte. Unfortunately my wife’s Martini had ants on the slice of lemon. No apologies from the waitress. The only let down where the staff didn’t smile and know what each other were doing! Some confusion on who was serving who! The wine list was excellent the Clos de Rose Rose was superb.

A great romantic dinner for two next to the fireplace. We were guests of the hotel and I would normally refrain from eating at a hotel restaurant since they have a captive audience - but this place is a destination in itself. The service was friendly and not pompous. The presentation was a work of art. The flavours and quality of food was excellent.
