We have eaten here on a few occasions: the last time we ordered the chateaubriand medium rare, it came out medium. When we spoke to the waitress she said they had a French chef and they always over cook the steaks. You have to ask if the chef is French or English when you come in as this will depend on how your meat is cooked which seems really strange as there is nothing on the menu that says you have to ask this. We let it go and did not complain. We came again today for lunch. We ordered the prawn risotto which I ordered the last time and it was amazing. I came across this restaurant while looking for potential venues for a date night. Thank you Google! Online booking system was easy to use, we received a confirmation email the next day. Lovely peaceful location (although easy to miss the car park which is behind the building if you're unfamiliar with the area). Staff were instantly friendly and attentive. They do an early bird menu on a Friday but we arrived at 6pm because we wanted to try the main menu. There is a bar area but we didn't explore it as our table was ready. Eating at La Boheme is like a whirlwind romance thrilling at first, but eventually, you realize there 's a bit of a language barrier. The food is decent, though it seems like the French flair got lost in translation. While the prices won 't make your wallet faint, you might find yourself questioning the quality of ingredients. It 's like they 're trying to impress you with knockoff luxury goods! Now, don 't get me started on the Valentine 's Day debacle. The flavours in every mouthful were a symphonic display of French culinary brilliance. Commencing with an amuse-bouche, a selection of delicious fresh baking accompanied the meal, and the second palate teaser, thoughtfully nestled between the starter and main course, seamlessly bridged the courses. Each dish evoked squeals of delight and intrigue as we endeavoured to identify and describe the intricate flavours dancing on our palates. The waiting staff were both attentive and abundant. This restaurant is my absolute favourite, I visit 6/7 times a year. I’d like to go more but also want to keep it as a special treat. The food is exquisite. Our last visit was 8th June and it was as excellent as always. I smiled to myself when I read a previous review about the butter because it’s so true. This attention to detail is apparent throughout the whole experience. The homemade bread is first class and it really is a delight. Staff are attentive without being intrusive. The decor is pristine and the ambiance is spot on. Thank you to everyone there for the wonderful dining experience.
La Boheme is just faultless. Everything from the very warm welcome to the outstanding cuisine and extremely professional service. All I can say is no wonder this restaurant receives such outstanding reviews. They are all spot on. As always Thankyou to Adele and team for yet another wonderful evening.
Lovely lunch to celebrate our 30 TH wedding anniversary. Only slight disappointment when we sent the last bottle of red wine back as it was definitely off! Staff finally agreed (we’d already had one bottle of the same wine) but no apology or even a complimentary coffee. Otherwise very good.
