Bill came to £145 for two people. This is the third time we have been to Mr Lous to try their “famous” lobster deal where you get a bottle of champagne with any 2pb Lobster which is only on Fridays. Each time we have been they have had NO lobster! Food we did order was extremely overpriced, dry and unpleasant. Duck spring rolls £7 hardly had any meat in them, just stuffed with a load of Veg. Honey Chicken £18 was basically 8 chicken nuggets on a plate with NO Sauce! We had to share the sauce from another main. Prawn toast £14 was awful! It is basically one piece of toast stuffed with more than the usual amount of Prawns. It was dry and taste was overwhelming with the amount of prawns stuffed...
I’m disappointed in an order placed last week. Last Friday, as a special treat to celebrate my brothers GCSE results,we decided to try this Chinese after hearing about it. Excited to try it, we placed an order for around £100 worth of food. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed and let down. The portions were very small for the prices, we paid £7 for salt and pepper chips to receive a stingy handful of chips. We paid £14 for salt and pepper ribs and were shocked that the ribs were small with hardly any meat on them and weren’t even battered. Went for a family day out at Gullivers world which is close by; was looking for some decent food for afterwards and saw that this was quite an expensive Chinese eatery, in my mind that made me think it was going to be fantastic food. Unfortunately I was disappointed it was fast food at fancy restaurant prices £100 bill for salt and pepper chicken £7 for salt and pepper chips and I’ve had more flavourful ones from a chippy, everything was under-seasoned and the chicken was bouncy over cooked and dry. Was really quite upset with it. The only good thing was the firecracker beef but even that was really simple and not worth the price tag.. service was great thought couldn’t knock that.
My calamari was quite tough, the cauliflower crisp was bland with no seasoning, although my wife's Korean chicken starter was very nice. The mains were of a reasonable size, but even on the early diner deal, dinner for 4 came to over £170, which it simply wasn't worth. The food here is absolutely superb, and the service matches it was a lovely evening. I have wanted to try here for so long, and it certainly did not disappoint.
