La Boissière - Reservar una mesa

One of the reasons I visit France is to get magnificent food and drink, mainly food. This restaurant is an excellent exemplar for me. Not a lot of publicity, in fact it took 4 attempts to get my phone enquiry answered within an hour of opening time. But eventually we were all rewarded with a successful visit. Service is exactly right, a combination of youth and experience, with near-perfect delivery. The wines were super value and interesting as I had a new-to-me Alsace blend or mélange. The soufflé was perfect, my steak was à point, and the tête de veau was cooked to perfection. The pace of service is exactly right, no hurry but also no long gaps where nothing happens. Was visiting my mum who lives here and never had the opportunity to try this restaurant before. She told me they are the same owner than La Roseraie and just moved there. The souvenir I had from La Roseraie was to be a top high level restaurant both from a atmosphere and quality of food. It sounds they lost both as they moved. The place looks cold and average level and I was disappointed by the food: what I mean is that it was too expansive for what it is. What they serve is fine and well cooked but this is not the level that deserve to be priced like they are.A positive point was the service and welcoming: very kind people, close to the customer, this is an important point.Having said that,...

Nice bistrot food, fresh and tasty. The lunch menu is really worth it as it only costs 22€ for three courses. I had a delicious starter of melted cheese, then fish from the market with veg and dessert was good too. My husband enjoyed his steak with French fries. The service could have been better. Really had the feeling to bother and at 2pm, it was clear we had to go. We paid 50€ for everything.

This was one of the best dinners of our month-long trip. Service was exceptional, with a warm welcome from the proprietor. The restaurant offers good menus at 24€ and 34€. We had one of each, taking the fish alternatives. La Boissière is easy to find, near the Hotel de Ville.

When I arrived, the Boissière team had not had the information about the fact that I am a vegetarian. It didn't pose a problem to them and I had the right to an entry and a dish full of flavors, finesse and originality. In short, a delight. Thank you!
