Having been promised lunch here by my wife in August (only to find it shut for the holidays) we were better prepared this time and had even booked in advance (and double checked it was open!)Very simple menu geared towards Le Plat du Jour, but the board outside warns it's subject to availability - when it's gone it's gone! And do observe French lunch time....some menus only available until 1.00pm.If you're not happy with the Plat du Jour there is a choice of entrecote, confit duck or cheese omelette all with the delicious 'frites maison'. I opted for the starter/main of the day (EUR11.50 for two dishes, EUR13 with dessert). Starter was a pretty little plate of charcuterie and crudité: slices...

This was our first visit to La Bonne Auberge and agree with so many of the previous Tripadvisor reviews. The food was of the best home cooked with a very tasty beef goulash (stew not soup) as the plat du jour. The confit duck was delicious as were the chips. The restaurant was busy with a mixture of locals including a largish walking party. Probably would have had a table for us having turned up on spec but to be sure suggest booking. (We were there on a Wednesday in October.) Restaurant is open at lunchtimes only Monday to Friday. The owner was friendly and ran the front of house efficiently and single handed. Relaxed friendly atmosphere and hope to have room for one of the tasty loooking d...

When in France everyone always looks for that typical country restaurant that caters mostly to locals and that serves good French food at a reasonable price. Well I found it in La Bonne Auberge, at Cahuzac. I always go with their "plat du jour" which is always delicious, but they also have excellent omelets, salmon, duck and steak. And the best "frites"! The price for their "formule" of "plat/dessert" plus a glass of wine is only 11.50 Euro. Jean Michel, the owner, takes care of everyone as if they were family. I have been going there for the past 11 years and will continue to go as often as I am able!

This is one of our favourite places. We have been visiting this restaurant for over 25 years (we have a house in the area) and we are never disappointed. The menu is typically French and the clientele are a mixture of both locals and tourists. The same family have owned it for 40 years. The son who now runs this restaurant has been front of house for about 15 years and he goes out of his way to make everyone feel welcome. He speaks English to the best of his ability (better than our French) to anyone who needs help. Well worth a visit.

This restaurant is perfect for lunch - it gets very busy but the service is attentive and efficient. The menu covers a range of simple dishes but the Plat du Jour is what to go for - changes everyday and is a well thought out simple local meal - absolutely spot on.This is only open at lunchtime and not on Saturdays so plan your meal carefully - would also recommend getting there at midday to get a table outside is that is your bag. After 1pm the prices go up a little.

Having tried to locate a restaurant close to or in Gaillac on a monday, and failed, I fullfilled a year long ambition and stopped off at Cahuzac sur Vere.We were not disappointed. We sat out at one of the three table on the terrace to the front of the restaurant.Entrecote steak, salad and frites plus dessert was a steal at only 16 euros. My wife went for the duck and was delighted. All in all, not to be missed.

La Bonne Auberge is a typical french village restaurant, open at lunchtime , but not in the evenings. It serves honest country food. We usually go for the menu du jour and have never been disappointed. We've been coming here for many years and in all seasons and have never been disappointed. Don't expect high cuisine, just simple, tasty and well prepared food at a very reasonable price.

Friday lunch while staying nearby - the restaurant was very busy with local diners but we were quickly found a table. We went with the dish of the day, a tasty pork cutlet served with a tangy tomato-based source, chips and salad, and a house carafe. Desserts were popular but we were more than satisfied with our €9 pp dish of the day. Good value.

La Bonne Auberge is a small restaurant only serving at lunchtimes. The menu is typically French and the food is simple, but well cooked. We ate there on a Sunday when the place was well frequented by both locals and visitors.
