Always a good time at this French bakery. We've come here for years and it has become our go to spot for birthday cakes and special celebrations. It's a feast to the eyes with those beautifully decorated cakes, macarons, cookies, pound cakes, croissants and other sweets. The bakery area is always cleaned and sometimes quite crowded, but they have now incorporated a number ticket system. So make sure if you plan to buy bakery, take a number then walk and browse, because they will serve you by the ticket number you have! Anyway, this time, we decided to try their restaurant side for lunch, which closes at 2:30pm. Once we placed an order, we're served with fresh bread and big handful of butter is this how the French does it? lol, I'm not complaining! Service was quick yet spotty at times. My husband tried their caramel coffee latte and their lunch special: cajun shrimp pasta. I had their half crepe entree (don't remember the name but it has all sorts of seafood bits in a creamy sauce/soup). I enjoyed this creamy crepe soup as a dip with extra baguette. However, the cajun shrimp pasta sure cleared our sinuses spicy, spiced yet creamy with a good number of shrimp. I'm glad we tried both and comfortable sharing our entrees lol.

Our family has always loved this bakery, well until yesterday evening. My husband got an anniversary cake for us there on Friday. Strawberry black forrest! This used to be my favorite cake. When we started to put sliced cake on our plates a bunch of raw flour went everywhere. We were shocked. Kids already started to eat it. We decided not to panic, and call the bakery next morning and see if it was really raw and really flour. He called in the morning and I called in the afternoon. Same manager spoke to both of us. She told both us that raw flour is safe it's not, it can have Salmonella and E- coli). She told me that they never had complained before, and they always use raw flour so that the cake won't stick. By the way most stomach infections don't show until days later and probably no one has put 2 and 2 together yet. However, I told her I have never noticed it before and it's a lot of it. She said that maybe it was a little more. Did I forget to mention that my husband preordered it and they forgot about it and had to make it righ there on the spot for him? So here we are feeling very disregarded and our Heath is at risk.

A one stop shop for delicious baked goods, fresh breads, and a perfect meal with friends or family. La Bonne Bouchée is the best off all worlds being part bakery, part cafe. The bakery side offers a large variety of cakes, macaroons, scones, tarts, brownies, cookies, fresh breads and more! I came for Saturday lunch with a group of six. The cafe was easy to accommodate our larger party and had quite a bit of inside seating as well as patio seating. There was a variety of meals or a la carte options to choose from. The majority of our group started with freshly made french onion soup following by a salad or sandwich as the entree. The French Onion soup was creamy and thicker with plenty of cheese on top; everyone raved about how great it tasted! The sandwich of choice was the chicken salad sandwich which everyone loved. I got the Bacon Egg sandwich with a side of Rosemary Roasted Potatoes. The bacon was nice and crispy as requested, biscuit was fresh and fluffy, potatoes were perfectly seasoned. Overall, I would highly recommend La Bonne Bouchée when looking for a simple yet delicious spot in the area.

Over the last 30 years, I have been to La Bonne Bouchee many times for both breakfast, lunch and dinner or to get some bakery treats. Now the 'coffee bar is open with questionable results. First, it was either the owner or manager behind the counter and he did not have a clue as to what he was doing. He went back and forth to the kitchen to make the coffee. He was definitely out in the weeds not really knowing what was up or what he was doing. The point of breaking was when the worker in the closed for the day restaurant was using a LAWN BLOWER TO CLEAN THE FLOORS. YIKES The tables were set for the next day and here was this guy blowing all the **** off the floor into the air to land who knows where. I spoke to the manager about how wrong this was and he defended the practice and walked away. We used to eat breakfast here every couple of weeks but since the hollandaise is always broken on the eggs benedict and the omelets are brown and overcooked, we no longer spend time or money here.
