La Brasserie du Rive

I 've been there a few times for business meetings; the location is great, and I 've found the service to always be very attentive. The food itself is ok in my opinion not the best value (qualité/prix) in the region. But for dinner this Monday, I faced an unpleasant issue: I ordered a meat fillet (by definition, a boneless piece). As I started chewing on one of the pieces of meat, I felt a big crack and pain: I found a hard piece of solid bone, that I took out discretely. And I felt a big hole in my back molar, with sharp edges. I contained the pain, and waited for the dinner to be over (no desert), and for my guests to leave. I reported the issue to the waitress as I asked for the bill. She told me oh, let me call the manager . Then I found myself waiting several minutes for the manager to finally come. He asked me what was wrong, I said that there was a hard piece of bone in my fillet (showing it), and that I 've broken a tooth on it... He was like oh, right, we de bone the meat ourselves , and asked me if I wanted a drink or dessert, I said no thanks, I 'm in pain right now . And he brought me the bill, which I settled. But I did not hear any word of apology or even regret. Not even a commitment that they will be more cautious with meat preparation. *Nothing*. The manager just left with the piece of bone I had recovered, as if to make it disappear. I didn 't even get a goodbye from the manager or the waitress, as I left the place on my own. I 've had perfect teeth, not even a cavity in my lifetime. Now I have a temporary fix put in place by a dentist, and I 'll have to go back for additional work on that broken tooth. I 'll deal with it. But I remain astounded at how rude and unhelpful that manager was. I don 't even know if he 'll do something to spare future customers from such an unpleasant surprise. I 'm sending this review with a message to the owner/management as well, hoping that they will provide a response.

Family outing, decided to visit as it was advised by many. Good location, but do get a table furthest from the lake road, to avoid noise. Service, although friendly, lacked professionalism, and at this price you expect much better. Had to ask multiple time for wine menue, for bread, and serve wine our selves. Menue is interesting and a bit innovative for Nyon. Iberic porc was cooked nicely and tartare was of good quality. Everything was ok but as with few Swiss restaurants, price does not match the service/food.

A lovely to spot to have Saturday lunch with friends and watch the world go by. That said,if sitting outside I would advise getting a table away from the lake road rather too busy. Highly recommend the seafood with pasta (sadly no moules that day), also the salads. Slight downside for one of our party who was not impressed by the quality of his steak. Probably better to stick to seafood. Friendly service but staff very pressed for time and thus not able to be as attentive as we would have liked.

I had reviewed it several years ago; was top then now even improved. The Brasserie title is an understatement as is the whole set up worth of a gourmet place at rather modest (Swiss scale) prices. Recommend plat de jour lunchtime weekdays, consisting of first and main dish, inventive cuisine for CHF 21. . Only set back next to main road but nice view towards lake.

Had lunch with friends there. Restaurant was totally packed but service was very friendly and while it remains slightly pricey for a Brasserie we were totally delighted by the food and the wine and eventually happy to pay for the gourmet experience... great place and will definitely come back.
