La Cabane a Huitres

Tiny place in an unglamorous location, but it’s been a family business for over 20 years. The oysters are amazing — as fresh and briny as you’d get right next to the ocean in the Southwest of France, from whence they come. Shirt wine list carefully chosen to go with the oysters. Make a reservation if you want to be assured of a table — it’s tiny. We went a little after 1 on a Wednesday afternoon , and pretty much had it to ourselves. We had a great time talking to the proprietor. There are a lot of fancier places you can go, but this place won’t disappoint or break the bank.

I found this place on tripadvisor and decided to try it. As an oyster lover, I could not have been more satisfied. The menu is very basic oysters of various types and foie gras. The owner is very personable, particularly if you speak French but he can help people in ENglish as well. He offered me a free armagnac, which was a wonderful way to conclude. Good prices, too. I will return the next time I am in Paris.

Wonderful idea of oysters from producer to your table as same owner. Good house wine, nice basque french smoked ham or foir gras or duck magret. Dont miss the goat cheese and the dessert eith coffee (cafe gourmand) And the armagnac liquor. A must .
