I rarely leave negative reviews, but our experience at La Cabra Brewing in Berwyn was beyond unacceptable. The food took a while to come out and was subpar—lacking flavor and the mac n cheese was room temperature. What made the experience worse was the service. My husband and I, the *only* two non-white customers in the restaurant, were completely ignored after receiving our food. Our waiter never checked on us, didn’t refill our water, and actively avoided us while serving other customers tables next to us (keeping his back turned to us). We hosted my son's and future DIL's rehearsal party at LaCabra's. The event coordinators, Jacey and Natalie were wonderful to work with. Very quick to respond to emails, provide recommendations, and meet with us. The event space was perfect for our party of 28. Our guests could walk around or sit at their table. Having a bartender assigned to our event was great. The food was excellent. We went with the taco bar, shrimp and chicken, a pan of Philly cheesesteak sandwiches, and the charcuterie tray. It was so nice that all of the food was set up in the mezzazine area. I highly recommend La Cabra's for a private party. We were so pleased with this place and the staff.
Wings were just ok. The farro salad is really a bowl full of spinach sprinkled with farro so it isn’t described correctly on the menu. The manager asked if I wanted something else so I swapped it for a Caesar (which was also mediocre). He charged me 50% for the bowl of spinach. So at the end of the meal I had a little bit of Caesar salad and paid $23. I will never eat here again. It’s unfortunate, the service from the bartender was good. Beers are good if you want a drink and a place to watch sports.
