Very good restaurant with warm service with great views onto the banks of the Seine in Vernon, the charming town where the train stops on your journey to Giverny from Paris (and where we learned that we were now in Normandy). They have a good a la carte menu with daily specials. Among the very good dishes we had were a squash veloute, tuna tartare and a bavette of beef with terrific Béarnaise sauce. Service is natural and correct, and our young server spoke very good English.
The first impression is of being in a restaurant that has just opened. We had to wait 30 minutes between ordering and entry. Foie gras has the feel of a low-end foie paté served with a sweet mayonnaise! The gacamolle millefeuille is not menu worthy. As for the dish it was the apotheosis, a soft caper skate was overcooked and a half cooked tuna without any flavor. I wonder if the chef tastes his dishes!
We had a business lunch in this nice restaurant. Two course lunch served very nicely. I had salmon tartar as a starter and trout as a main course. Two other persons had a bit different selection and we all were pleased. So the restaurant probably has a quality menu. Restaurant seems to focus on sea food. Natural considering that it has a nice direct view over river Seine.
Not to be recommended When a restaurant makes fun of its customers like that, it's nonsense!!!!!! Reservation by telephone for a table at 9:15 p.m., the person on the line told us no problem and even took our contact details! When we arrived at 9:15 p.m. at the restaurant it was not our surprise to find the party closed and the lights off!!!!!! What a shame ! Reserva una mesa ahora
We had good memories of this restaurant. The view of the river, the service and the dishes but yesterday what a disappointment! The oyster forks were dirty, the coffee cup still had lipstick on the rim...and the service was beyond poor. The kitchen was very ordinary. Damage!
Original decoration and a set menu for a saint valentines dinner which was a bit disappointing, not in the quality of the meal, nothing to fault there but in the service which was far from professional.
Book a table at the window! I am especially fond of the view on the river Seine. But of course the food is very good as well. However ...., you ere really dining out and prices are relatively high end.
