La Empanada Loca - Reserva de mesa

I 'll start by saying that I 'm not Puerto Rican, but I have been to the island four times and visited friends there who took me to eat at real, local places, so I 'm pretty well acquainted with Puerto Rican food. My wife and I stopped by for lunch. This was by far the best mofongo I 've ever had outside of Puerto Rico. The degree of ripeness of the plantain, the texture resulting from the frying time, it was fantastic! Rather than getting it with pork skins (chicharrones) we got it with fried pork (called carne frita on the menu) which was similar to chicharrón the way it is prepared in South America. Emmanuel was our server and he was very nice, and quick with our food. He told me not to worry about the mess, since my daughters threw rice all over the ground lol. I felt reassured that he wasn’t worried about it and it wouldn’t be a problem to clean up. The restaurant is very clean, and the paintings are nicely done. The last thing I’d have to say is the portion of the food was worth the price. :

The food is very delicious. It is also such a special treatment and very clean. They make some alcapurrias so good. I enjoyed the ones I bought today and with my favorite drink Cocorico. Thank you
