We went as a group of three couples on the recommendation of one of the couples who had eaten at this establishment previously. The welcome was warm and inviting from every member of the staff with whom we had contact. We were advised that this would be a meal to remember - and we were not disappointed. The meal started with a very nice complementary aperitif - a light white fizzy wine. A nice soup served with very tasty, crusty bread followed. Two entree courses, one of foie gras and one of ravioli stuffed with duck rillettes and served in a mushroom sauce came next. The main course, magret de canard, was cooked to perfection and served with garlic potatoes. No meal in France is complete without cheese, and so a small but tasty selection of cheese was offered, along with more of the crusty bread. The meal's finale was a delicious dessert which is probably best described as a sweet omelette, soaked in eau de vie and flambéed. Inclusive of wine, our meal cost €28 per head and was worth every cent. The ambiance in the dining room was very comfortable and clean. Our whole party would recommend this Auberge, but a word of warning - arrive hungry! Also, get good directions as it is a little off the main road and would be easy to miss....
