La Ferme Auberge Du Grand Coderc

As a family of adults child) we have just arrived back at our lovely farmhouse holiday accommodation following an amazing lunch at the la ferme auberge du grand coderic . The restaurant serves several courses of duck cooked and served in...different ways all delicious as was the aperitif and carafe of wine and at excellent value. We enjoyed the entire experience and our year old was bemused to say the least although she admits to being frightened a little by the larger than life owner Bernard who is a loud character indeed. Bernard's wife Monique was so kind and a lovely lovely lady thank you Monique and the young man helping you for making our lunchtime experience so enjoyable.

Véritable voyage culinaire dans le Périgord noir, nous avons pris le premier menu, cuisine simple, raffinée et très goûteuse, les plats constitués des produits de la ferme respirent un authentique savoir-faire propre à la région et aux sympatiques propriétaires des lieux... entrée avec un potage de légumes de saison puis le canard grillé est à la fête, filets de canard avec sa garniture maison .. fromage ou dessert .. 1er prix pour ce menu, chapeau Messieurs Dame ... c'était succulent ! ....

Loved the ferme auberge group meal experience. Vegetable soup, followed by foie gras, both sauteed and fresh, lead to a hearty lamb stew with potatoes sarladaise as the main course. Then on to a lovely farmer's cheese...and a sweet souffle for the pièce de résistance...wow!...A bit hard to find as their map on their website is wrong! Otherwise...a fun time and a memorable feast!

Oh wow, what can I say. Very friendly host.... and plenty of home cooked and produced food. You certainly need a good appetite to eat here. The wine and food was very good and hot when it arrived and we were a large party. Certainly...worth a visit!

This was our second visit to this family run auberge. The typical French lunchtime atmosphere was great, the food had the character of the region and was plentiful. The owners were most welcoming and full of French charm.
