La Maison Du Kouign-amann

So I was browsing the internet for the best strawberry shortcake in Ottawa and after many blogs and threads, one name on Reddit kept coming up. It was for your bakery. I placed my order a week in advance since the birthday falls on Canada Day and everything will be closed. Picked up the cake today and didn't wait until tomorrow to slice it up. I'm not a huge cake guy but this cake was phenomenal. Everything was perfect. The cake was so soft and the creme was so delicious. Absolutely worth every penny. I ended up giving a slice to a friend and he called and ordered two more cakes immediately.(He's not a cake guy either) He has a birthday on Canada Day as well. I will be recommending and comin...

Amazed by the great selection of French desserts and pastries. The pistachio cranberry tart is just at the perfect sweetness with full body of nutty flavor from real pistachio. The subtle fruity acidity from cranberry perfectly balanced off the sweet taste. The creamy chocolate croissant is also beyond expectation. The light sugar crust upgrades the crispness of pastry dough. The inside is tender and soft. The “caramelized” chocolate finishes the bite with pleasant chewiness. Totally a joy companioned with a sip of black americano.

So disappointed! I went for their kouign amann and had high hopes as it is in their name, but it was one of the worst pastries I’ve ever had. I couldn’t even finish it : wet, soggy and bland. I had bought three to take home and won’t eat the other two, I’ve had these pastries before and when made properly they are the best pastries out there. This is not the place to get them. They have a large array of other pastries but I won’t be back to try them.

First time visiting this bakery. Stopped off today to pick up a few desserts for a Mother's Day afternoon tea after a recommendation that was provided to me. I let them pick out six different tarts and other pastries for is to try, and they did not disappoint! Everyone absolutely lovedntjeir afternoon treats. Some may think the prices are a bit on the high end, but after seeing the artistry that goes into their work I consider it money well spent!

Best French bakery in Kanata or Ottawa!!The salted caramel tarts are to live for!! And not to mention the kouignets!! So amazing! Plus best birthday cakes ever!! The service is amazing and the tastes of France are beyond delicious! ??

Great gem in Ottawa! Their pistachio pastries are heavenly. The shop is large and spacious, and allows dine in. I would love to visit again and try their many many meals and desserts.

We drove from Toronto and went straight here! Love the Kouign Amann and haven't been able to find the same quality at home. A must try! Add coffee...mmmmm

Super good coffee and sweet treats! I tried the eclairs and croissant and it was DELICIOUS! Will try more stuff next time as another visit is a must!

Delicious, fantastic, easy going and reasonably priced. Cost to good taste is definitely there. Will for sure visit again next time I'm in the area.

The pistachio tart was amazing! Tried the ferrero eclair and praline coffee tart as well and they were just OK.
