SLAVIAN FLAVORS AT THE ENTRANCE TO VERTEUIL in CHARENTE. What a surprise to find at the foot of the prestigious Château de La Rochefoucauld an Eastern European grocery store where we are offered delicious “Krakov-style” and Sokolov smoked pork sausages. One of our friends learned there how to bite a sunflower seed! Olesia's small grocery store has Russian, Polish, Ukrainian and Moldovan products! It is an essential as well as picturesque stopover during a stay in Verteuil.

Excellent ! Open from 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Warm welcome with a smile and elegance. Lots of interesting local products and, in addition, delicious traditional Russian and Ukrainian dishes. Pleasant terrace with an exceptional view of the castle.
