I've been there many times. Every time the service has been outstanding. Sometimes a little slow, but the ambiance is so nice, it invites you to have a conversation with normal voice and hear your table mates, while they bring your food. I always like the tarte à l'oignon as an appetizer. I had the fish and we shared the profiteroles, all stuffed with ice cream and covered with a delicious chocolate sauce. Everything was outstanding! They were short of staff that night, so Mary, the chef, was helping her staff. The restaurant was full of activity and I felt like I was in a real Paris bistrot.
I have the good fortune to enjoy the la petite folie experience on an fairly regular basis. I have loved this place since I was first introduced over 10 years ago. It doesn't matter if you don't know much about French food, if you love flavor you will love your meal. Everything is always fresh and cooked to perfection. I can't recommend it enough.
Not the first time I've been here, it's a staple diet in my restaurant calendar. However the service, food and wine never disspoint. It really is a taste of France in Edinburgh. If you are visiting make sure you sample this excellent cuisine. I'll be back.....I know you will.
This place has the most delicious food. The service provided was impeccable. The owner came out to make sure we were happy with everything. Portions were more than fair and cooked to perfection.Forgot to take pictures of our 1st course and dessert.

LPF is an actual restaurant, or at least what all restaurants should be about. Is not about trends, or hype… is about service, attention to detail, great food and wine. This is an amazing place.
