I've driven by this place a bunch and never thought much of it. I mean, it's a Mexican restaurant in Oldham County. Seriously, that's a thing?!? Pick your poison, there's a few to choose from. Anyway. This spot is not sit down TexMex affair. This was 100% authentic. Wanna know how the spot is good? Just asked the several Mexican patrons who were eating there. The portions were good. The food was good. The service was good, too. It probably would have been better, but I can't speak Spanish. By better, I just mean more smoothly as this place has a walk up counter and you order off a giant menu on the wall. I got barbicoa burrito, a chicken quesadilla, and some steak tacos for our table. We happened upon this place at random. The food is authentic and very good. The tortillas do not seem handmade and the chips were a bit stale, but the food was very good. They were nice enough to all me to special order a veggie burrito that they stuffed full with lettuce, bell pepper, onion, tomato, rice and I think a thin layer of beans. It was delicious. My husband got the carnitas tacos and said they were very good and he would recommend them. We also purchased a side of chips and guac. I hadn't realized that chips didn't come with the meal with he asked if i wanted them. I probably wouldn't get them again. The guac was great. They have a sign outside that says, Best tacos in town , so I had to try. I AM a taco lover. I walked in a little after 1pm on a weekday and the place was happening. I proceeded to the counter to order tacos. There is a large menu posted on the wall off to the left of the cashier with many items, more than just tacos. I ordered one chicken and one pork taco to go. They came topped with cilantro and onions. Two small containers of salsa came along on the side. They also have an adequately sized dining room, as well if you would like to eat in. The service was quick and friendly. The tacos were in fact, the best in town. I can 't wait to bring my family. I definitely will return soon.
We sampled the shrimp, chicken, and carne asada tacos, and they were incredibly flavorful! Each of us had two tacos, which were more than enough to fill us up. I absolutely loved the carne asada topped with fresh cilantro, diced onions, and a squeeze of lime. The meat was incredibly tasty. This is a relaxed and neighborhood-friendly restaurant. The food is tasty and authentic. When we arrived, the place was a bit disorganized, with tables that needed to be cleared; I suspect they focus more on takeout than dine-in customers. If you're nearby, it's definitely worth a visit. The queso is made with Velveeta, and the burrito is quite generous. Overall, it's good, though I've certainly had better tacos elsewhere.
Just a taqueria attached to a grocery store but really fantastic food. I got the carne asada burrito. Amazing, tasty, just right seasoning. Glad I saw an earlier review because I knew I could order a veggie burrito (not on the menu). She really enjoyed it. Nice combo of peppers and tomatoes and cheese.
