We chanced upon La Taverne Provençale when we decided, on the spur of the moment, to visit the hilltop village of Gourdon. The spacious terrace, with its stunning views down to the coast, was already fairly full but, despite our lack of reservation, we were warmly welcomed, a table swiftly found for us and two apéritifs arrived with the comprehensive menu, including daily specials. The food was simply excellent, particularly my own farandole of traditional stuffed vegetables. It started badly because our reservation had jumped, but the boss took it in hand and put us a table for 7 illico. Then everything went very well: the water carafe comes right away, it is renewed constantly. Provencal stuffandole is recommended, stuffing is excellent. The gourmet coffee is also worth the detour, we are not disappointed. service is fast though the restaurant is full. Anyway, we could fear a tourist catch in view of the situation, but that's not the case.
we eat in this restaurant every time we come to the area with friends or family. the view is exceptional and the dishes are very good. our favorites are the hot goat salad and the gambas dish. the quality of the service is quite random according to the person who deals with you.

reception and excellent service! products are fresh and of good quality. the impeccable setting in the heart of the old town with a magnificent view of the montages and the hill (nice, cap d'antibes and the massif of Esterel). You won't be disappointed!
