After having lived an exceptional experience from beginning to end of the meal last year (for a modest price given the dishes served), we decided to come back with a friend this year with the promise of a quality meal. I regretted this initiative because I didn't know the owner's change. I don't know if the new managers had shared the dishes that had been offered before. Probably not, because the gourmet menu is not like what we had known. Some dishes are no longer on the menu, others wear the same name without having the taste, the portions are smaller and without flavor. the Norwegian omelet that was sublime and served generously for two last year left room for an infamous industrial produ...
this restaurant has recently changed the hands and that was the first visit under the new property. they were always loud, who crumbled loudly about the rather angular inner and this has not improved: the soft device would help here. the service has significantly improved...and the menu is extended. the wine list has deteriorated almost all Loire wines and red wine is served in unacceptable cold. the food is not satisfactory, however: my main course was a mere part of salmon surrounded by half-kartoffels, which are arranged in watch mode and accompanied by a quarter of a tomato with a lemon that is so thin that it could have been cut by a microtome. a microtome has probably also cut the brot...
Someone advised me a while ago that to find a good place to eat is France is to follow the locals: they'll lead you to a place serving good food at a reasonable price. Le Delice, a friendly and welcoming restaurant/bar on the edge of...the village, is indeed such a place, being frequented by locals and visitors both to the village and its famous abbey. The food is of an excellent quality and very well served. The menu is however rather limited and never changes, otherwise I would have given five stars. Fontevraud has quite a few eateries' now, three more formal restaurants and a number designed to catch the visitor. However Le Delice is really in a class of its own and thoroughly recommended...
We're just passionate, with family, with our picnic baskets. We asked if we could settle in the park. We were told yes. There were chairs, small tables, long chairs. MA-GNI-FI-QUE! We were even allowed to use the bathroom. I loved hospitality, hospitality. Just this, a generous and unexpected act, and all these smiles! I think it's the first time that it happens to me, and I felt a lot of joy. It can be exaggerated, even denying, but no, that's good. Whether or not, the abbey of st jacut is a real place of resourcing, calm and serenity. meals are very good and healthy, the rooms are simple but extremely quiet and relaxing with often a reading armchair in the bedroom or on the landing, the park and the seaside are invigorating! I recommend that people seek peace
